As a new store, it looks good. Ordering via the mryum QR link was simple, with what appears to be a good range of dishes. But, it fell flat from that point. We ordered One beef salad, one bahn mi, one chicken & avo rice-paper roll, flaming prawns, a ginger beer and an ice tea. The flaming prawns really don’t even deserve a mention.. So I’ll move on.
After ordering and prepaying via mryum, a staff person came out to inform me that they didn’t have any chicken & Avo ricepaper rolls. (Even though there were staff in the kitchen who could have whipped one up in no time at all.) But would I like something else. Umm, ok. One girl seemed to be doing most of the work and she looked under the pump.. But, rather than prepare all our dishes and serve them together, they came out one at a time.. The first item out to the table was the alternate ricepaper roll. Followed by the salad. Then a few minutes later the bahn mi came out. Then the prawns. The vietnamese salad was just bowl of sliced cabbage and carrot, with a small portion of meat (lemongrass beef) on top. Fairly light-on when it came to flavour. The bahn mi was palatable. but was nothing to write home about. And again, only a small amount of the meat onboard. As she brought each item out I politely confirmed what was still to come. We had all but finished our meals before I had to approach the counter to see where our drinks were. A minute later one of our drinks came out, and the staff-person informed me that they didn’t have any ginger beer. Would i like something else. Ummm ok.. 🤷♂️ For an outlet that’s only been open a week, most of the young staff seemed to already have no pep in their step. And while the one girl struggled to assemble and serve all the food by herself, the 3 other customer facing staff either just hung around or took meal breaks, (all while customers were inhouse). This whole time, sitting at the table next to us was a couple who were clearly the owners/franchisees chatting with a guy who I assume was the supervisor/floor manager. Now, I would have thought that for a store that has only been open a week, they would be getting around welcoming their customers to their NEW outlet, showing an interest in their dining experience and trying to make a good impression, so as to create loyal return customers. But no. They didn’t. And with the “meh” vibe they were giving off the whole time we were there, I’m not surprised their staff seemed to already be over it. And its only week 1.. 🤦♂️ But thankfully there is a silver lining to this long fateful tale. There is a Vietnamese bakery at the other end of the centre that makes a bahn mi I would happily...
Read moreWas so excited for this place to open up because I used to go to the one in Sydney all the time, but unfortunately I was greatly disappointed not only in the food but in the customer service as well.
Ordered 3 beef soups and one lemongrass beef baguette (which was sad and dry) to go and if I didn’t check the bag or watch them assemble it, I would have gone home without any broth! I actually had to remind them about it myself. The portions were uneven (one cup had A slice of beef, one had like 3 slices and the last one had more beef than noodles). Some of the coriander was rotten and when I asked for some hot sauce (which i saw were already pre-packed and ready to be put in takeaway orders) I received it while the manager/supervisor on duty stared at me with the nastiest look on her face as if I committed a crime!
I know they just opened but I am already looking forward to new management & staff because right now the standard is...
Read moreSome random but lovely girl in a crop top, shorts and thongs served us due to a girl stressed on the phone then a lovely Philippino (I think) lady served us... got a pork bun, but if u tell me it's roast pork and crackling I expect more than 1x tiny piece of crackling, couldn't taste any sauce, was half a stick of spring onion - not even sliced, not enough corriander for me. Very, very disappointing, I'm happy to pay $11 for a roll if it's worth it, but that wasn't sorry it was wasted money, and our first time. It wasn't a good impression. If I can just say... try not to let stress come out in...
