RQ'S Tavern — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

Our family would regularly dine here on either a Monday or Wednesday night a couple years ago (prior to the renovation) and was always buzzing and full. Fast forward to now and its clear its going downhill. The place was empty. I never post reviews, however our experience on Monday night was so disgusting that I have to let this rip. JESSICA, you have no place in any customer facing role, period. The attitude and outright disrespect you showed towards us was absolutely disgusting. To tell a mother ordering her food at the counter with a baby in hand "To please leave the counter because we can't have children here" and then to yell at a 5yo child for approaching the counter to ask for a straw is just despicable. PAUL, your attempt to resolve this was also pathetic and clearly shows there is no leadership within this establishment. Jessica deserves nothing more than to have been fired on the spot. I recently visited this pub and was quite impressed. The place is clean and well-kept, with a welcoming atmosphere. They offer a variety of meal deals, including options on weekdays, which is a great bonus. I went on a Saturday, and to my surprise, after 5pm, the main meals were 50% off, which was a good deal. The menu had a nice selection, and the food was lovely and well-portioned.

The pub also has a spacious gaming area with poker machines and other games, which added to the fun. It was lively with people enjoying themselves, and the energy didn’t die down, with customers staying and playing late into the night. Firstly the two stars is for the staff and manager only. They were so nice and very embarrassed that our meals took over an hour to come out. Who ever cooks the steaks needs to be re trained, all of them were disgustingly over cooked. if the steak was medium as I requested the hour wait would have been worth it but I literally had to saw into the meat and was unable to chew it because my medium steak was so over cooked it was impossible to eat. The poor waitress was trying so hard to compensate for the disasterous meal but I was pretty pissed I wasted my money. Not one person at our table was overly happy with their food especially those who ordered steak. I will probably never eat here again and definitely won't recommend this...
