Great service from a lovely young lady. Unfortunately our food was terrible. My prawns were cut into small pieces like the size of the top of your finger They were then cooked in butter with a shovel load of garlic and a tiny little piece of chilli and a teaspoon of parsley. No lemon juice. All l could taste was rubbery little pieces of prawn with a strong garlic butter taste. Debbie had the battered fish and chips . Guys - change your supplier of your frozen goods - there was more batter than fish and sorry u need to leave the chips in cooking for another 2 minutes. We both agreed that the head chef wasn’t in the kitchen or if he was he is inexperienced and is cutting corners. Chef - don’t chop up ur prawns, don’t cook in butter… use a good olive oil, measure ur garlic as it shouldn’t kill off all the other flavours and for goodness sakes use fresh fish fillets that u batter your self. Chef - go to a good Italian restaurant and order a spaghetti Ali Olio with prawns Plenty of good olive oil , good hit of chilli, little garlic, plenty parsley, gooood squeeze lemon juice finished w some Tom Thumb tomatoes and a few capers. I hope u r not insulted, however your food is lazy and without experience or creativity I am not a keyboard warrior - l am a member of the club and reception has my email address Cheers Jason Ewing

Tonight the four of us ordered a roast pumpkin salad with grilled haloumi, chicken parmigiana, beef Wagyu hamburger and a classic butter chicken. Atmosphere.. we opted to dine inside and initial impressions was the floors needed a thorough vacuum. Heaps of TV screens to watch live sport. It's your typical RSL/local sports club bistro feel. Verdict on the food..the missus enjoyed her classic chicken parmigiana. The roast pumpkin salad was generous and satisfied my teenage son requirements. The Wagyu beef burger was underwhelming as patty was over cooked and consequently very dry. I kept the best to last. The butter chicken packed with the wonderful traditional flavour. The chicken thighs was cooked to perfection and was perfectly immersed with the delicious sauce. The rice had a subtle hint of cardamon and gloves and was accompanied with sliced green shallots and a warm, soft naan bread. If you are looking for an unpretentious place to dine, which is walking distance to the beach or Tallebudgera creek, this is the place.

The 2 blonde female looking after us were fantastic. 1 girl greeted us and sat us on fabulous table and the other girl served us. The meals we picked were perfect, 4 oysters each, 1 lobster taco each and a barramundi each. It was all really good but the lobster was a little ruined with deep frying as it tasted like popcorn chicken, extremely crunchy and while that was still fine, they were $15 each so $30 worth of lobster that was pretty much unrecognizable. I’m thinking the lobster was a little old and that’s why chef cooked it like that. The taco was great and I think if the few small pieces of lobster tail were fresh, steamed with garlic butter or something like a mornay sauce, that would have been better. I’m from Sydney but will definitely bring my bestie Penny there again in a few months when I visit again. Oh and I almost forgot, the window tables need to be higher or sitting on podium’s as the beautiful view is massively obstructed.

I just want to put out there that I’m not usually one to write a review but this staff members attitude was appalling. My partner and I sat down at a table after standing at the front looking for a please wait to be seated sign, after failing to find one we found a table with no reserved sign. A lady then walked over and gave us some table water making it feel as if we did the right thing. Then while my partner was getting menus a middle aged man came over and asked who sat me I said no one did, I wasn’t aware I needed to be seated as I didn’t see a sign. He then proceeded to take my water away and told me I cannot sit there and told me to go back to the front to wait to be seated to which I then after being escorted out of the dining area did I see the please wait to be seated signs in front of the kitchen… not in front of the seating area… weird spot if you ask me. He continued to be rude towards both me and my partner after this but then continued to seat us back at the table we were already sitting at…

The rest of the experience was lovely the ladies who served us were lovely I got the pork belly although pretty sure they just gave me a peace of Sunday roast instead of pork belly but oh well was still nice and my partner got a very average parmi.

Oh also the middle panel on the window sits right at eyesight which covers your view of the ocean which an ocean view is one of the main reasons you eat at a surfclub.

The old section of the surfclub is amazing this is why I don’t want to give any less...

A Disgraceful Experience – Never Again

I had the absolute displeasure of dining at the Tallebudgera Surf Club recently, and it was, without a doubt, one of the worst hospitality experiences I have ever endured. Upon arrival, my friends and I were met with pure hostility from a man named Johnathan, whose condescending stare and dramatic eye-roll made it clear we were not welcome. Apparently, walking in without a reservation was an offense worthy of contempt.

When we were finally seated—dumped in a grimy, sweltering corner—it became clear that customer service was not a priority at this establishment. The table was dirty, the atmosphere was suffocating, and the entire experience felt like an afterthought. However, the most disturbing part of our visit wasn’t the lackluster seating or even the dismissive attitude we were met with—it was the blatant mistreatment of staff.

Johnathan, in an appalling display of unprofessionalism, berated female employees so aggressively that one was brought to tears. Watching a supposed leader humiliate and intimidate his staff in front of patrons was beyond uncomfortable—it was outright disgusting. No one should have to endure that kind of treatment, and it speaks volumes about the toxic culture being fostered here.

Suffice it to say, I will never return to Tallebudgera Surf Club. If you value good service, a welcoming atmosphere, and basic human decency, I suggest you take your...

We had dinner in a group of 14 people, all adults. Unfortunately the meals were a total let down. The schnitzels appeared to be out of a packet all crumbs and no chicken. The seafood baskets were small and average for the price. To top it off the burgers were cooked medium rare. Raw in the middle. No one commented that they enjoyed their meal. On the flip side. The staff were superb. Friendly, courteous and professional. The Club is spacious and very well presented. Unfortunately it would take a lot to convinced any of us to return though.

After posting this previous review, I was contacted by the Club Manager Dermot, who apologised, and took full ownership of our issues. He requested we give the Club another chance. We all agreed to as we had all been there previously with pleasing results. On the 25th of September '19, 15 of us had dinner at the Club. What a difference!! All our meals, mains and desserts were spot on. Our meals were wide and varied and everyone commented on the improvement from our previous visit. We're convinced, we will be back. One again all the staff members were first class. I commend Dermot for his quick response to my less than favourable previous review. His prompt reaction has changed all our opinions about the Club. If only more Managers would take responsibility like Dermot, and address areas that need improvement, many businesses could remain...
