Oz Thai — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

Arrived to collect my pre-ordered takeaway and was advised it would be an additional 10 minute wait. I asked to purchase prawn crackers for my daughter to snack on while waiting and they gave me a huge packet and I asked if they have a smaller size, she said no and I asked if I could get the smaller packet that was in the cabinet, she said oh right, you want them, I said yes please as this packet is enormous, she muttered and actually mocked me to another worker saying, oh this packet is enormous she can’t have this. I paid and sat to wait, i then asked if we could dine in as it was going to be too late to feed my daughter at home once we got home, she then grunted at me and basically threw cutlery on the table. I then asked if she would rather me not eat in and or pay for the food because she was being so rude, she said, no We are just really busy, but had no issue being polite and friendly to other customers. While I was sitting down, feeding my one year old, a fellow customer came over and said you were reasonable about what you did, she was being so rude to you. I’ve always returned to this takeaway place even though, it almost always takes 3 or more calls to get through to make an order, because the food has been pretty good, but after tonight, I will never come back here and I will deter anyone I speak to who are looking for a takeaway place. Was recommended this restaurant but was really disappointed. We ordered the fried rice which just tasted like bland boiled rice with a sparse serving of scallions and boiled chicken. Our pad see ew tasted like the noodles were cooked in dirty water and was barely edible along with the fish cakes. The jungle curry, we took one bite of and spat it out and threw it in the bin. The basil and chilli was okay to eat. Additionally, we were overcharged for one of our entrees. I usually don’t like to leave bad reviews, but this food was unacceptable. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone, which is disappointing as we read the reviews and most were positive. I don’t know how they messed our food up so bad. Definitely have never tasted Thai...

Ok so this place is Thailand in Australia…..the staff are super friendly and smiling all the time…they brought us prawn crackers with an amazing peanut sauce complimentary as soon as we sat down. We ordered the chicken satay skewers fur entree which were so delicious….then we both ordered the Pad See Ew..1 chicken & 1 beef and we both closed our eyes as we were eating and said we are literally on the beach in Thailand right now….delicious food which could not be faulted. Even their plates were plastic like how you get them in Thailand. Great Staff and Delicious food! A must try if you’re ever in Palm...
