Food took a while to come out and we were there with one other table at the start of service. I had to get my own bottle of water after waiting 15 minutes. I mainly eat at Japanese restaurants / travelled Japan extensively and I didn’t find this very authentic or good Japanese food. More good food court Japanese. Felt japanese “inspired”. Also my Pork Tonkatsu wasn’t representative of the true dish which was disappointing. I couldn’t finish my meal and the pork was dry. They had a special of the day tempura salmon which was very good so not all negative. Definitely not for me but the place was packed so I think the locals love it. I’d say if you are after authentic excellent Japanese this is not the place - if you’re not having Japanese food all the time to compare to I think you’d enjoy this. It was a few friends like this that recommended zipang to me. Always worth trying I think if you’re not fussed with sticking to the expected...
Read moreWe were there on the weekend and I unfortunately I was left with a sour taste in my mouth. The food was extremely good and i have no complaints there. However when i asked for some more clear soup, it seemed to anger the chef who came out, was frankly aggressive and rude and clearly very unhappy with this request. I do not feel this response was warranted. When I still made the request, I was told that 'it will cost you' and he then returned wanting payment mid meal. We said we would pay what was asked and at the end of the meal, saw that we were charged (as I had predicted we would be given his behaviour) an unfairly high amount for this clear soup. I had even made the effort to apologise for upsetting him by making this request but felt his reaction was both unprofessional and punitive. It is a pity as the food was indeed very good. It could have been a five star review but the experience was overall a very...

This small but charming eatery offers both indoor and outdoor seating, with a menu that caters to all tastes, from sashimi and sushi to rice bowls, and of course, their signature ramen. There’s even a selection of beers and a surprisingly good wine list. When the ramen arrived, I’ll admit I was skeptical at first, the broth looked a little watery. But any doubts quickly disappeared with the first spoonful. The flavour was rich and satisfying, easily rivaling the best we’ve had in Sydney. Every element was well-executed, and the dish left nothing to be desired. If you’re craving authentic ramen and a cozy dining experience, this spot is a must-visit. It’s a welcome addition to the local food scene and one we’ll be...
