We went at a busy time but jeez it was slow service. Waited a few minutes to actually get in and then the person at the front complained that people just decide where to sit and it makes his job really difficult. Yeah ok - but if you show people to their table they won’t get lost on where to go We had two families at the table, we ordered seperately through the app and everything (including drinks and kids meals) came out one by one. I had to cancel my main as it hadn’t arrived in close to an hour and the kids were ready to go. I received a refund for that after I was told I should know it was a long wait and weren’t you told. No, I paid on the app. I was also told they were very busy which yep gotcha, but management needs to address this issue (which has been raised many times in other reviews) Oh and to top it off the food and drinks were awful. Margarita came with no garnish and no ice and while my friend tried to enjoy that $15 disaster I waited 20 more minutes for a glass of Shiraz. Not recommended. Clearly the staff here don’t have enough support from management - if they did they would be happier, more helpful and not as stressed.

Always disappointing coming here, I got 2 starters for dinner tonight and requested they be brought out with the mains so I can eat with my family. I firstly got given these $19 bao buns that were so underwhelming ( one piece of cucumber with one ball of chicken on open flat buns, absolute rip off in this cost of living) these got brought out to me right after the kids meals arrived ( 20 minutes before the main meals came) not only all of this there was a small curly hair on the bun ( I have hair that reaches my lower back I know what it looks like and it was definitely not that) then my second starter which was also requested to be brought with the mains came 15 minutes after all my family got their main meals. This was just so disappointing not only did I not get to eat with my family but it wasn’t even worth it. Although I must say all of the service staff were so lovely and were doing an amazing job on this busy night! The revamped to golden point may look nice but it will never compare to Zagami’s My recommendation is if your looking to actually go out for a nice dinner do not come here

At a jaw-dropping $27, you'd expect a burger that flirts with transcendence. What I received instead was a soggy, sorry stack of mediocrity masquerading as gourmet. The meat patty was cold. Not lukewarm. Cold. As if it had been cooked yesterday, stored in a fridge, and then forgotten on the grill for a few seconds as an afterthought. The flavor? Nonexistent. The patty tasted like it had been marinated in apathy and grilled over the dying embers of ambition. Whatever seasoning they used, they must have waived it at the burger from across the kitchen. And the sauce — oh god, the sauce. A deluge of some indistinguishable, cloying goo drowned the bun and annihilated any texture or integrity. I've had more balanced flavor from a vending machine sandwich. Even the bun couldn’t save it — soaked, limp, and collapsing under the weight of its own pointlessness. The Golden Point Burger is a masterclass in how not to make a burger. Save your money, your tastebuds, and your dignity. This isn't food — it's a $27 insult.

Today my daughter had her birthday party at this establishment. The party was good, the host was nice. Prior to the party, I had received confirmation of my booking for the party/dinner via text message. Upon arrival, our party host stated "you will have these four tables" pointing to the four tables in front of the playground, knowing we were staying for dinner afterwards with family coming. Unfortunately, the host disappeared at the end of the party and that is where our negative experience began. I have NEVER been treated so DISGUSTINGLY by staff in my life and I would NEVER recommend going back here EVER again. Firstly, the "duty manager" rudely come over and told us that we'd have to move as they had a booking coming in - I advised that I had the booking, however we had slightly less people than the number they had said in the confirmation. She then come back and made us move to a table in the corner. Now note that AT NO TIME were we advised that after party bookings, you can only eat there for 1.5 hours. When booking for my daughter's party, I had made a booking for dinner AT THE SAME TIME. Our 10 guests then ordered their dinner and started eating. At 7.15, the duty manager approaches the table and rudely states "We need this table for a booking in ten minutes you need to leave" Despite the fact that one of our guests hadn't even gotten the food they ordered yet and others had just received theirs. I said we had a booking, to which she rudely stated she would go and check and then several minutes later, the party host returns and then reiterates that there was a booking at 7:30 at we had to leave . Again I reiterated that all people hadn't got the food they ordered and until we finished eating we would not leave as we had a booking. The party host at this time then stated that they appeared to not have booked things correctly on their end and apologised, but stated she would see what she could do. Our final guest finally got their food at 7:25 after having to ask twice for the missing meal, and we were then approached by yet ANOTHER STAFF MEMBER who told us we had to leave for their supposed booking (MINE). Again I reiterated we had a booking, we had paid hundreds of dollars to the business today and we had a right to finish our food that we had paid for. I HAVE NEVER BEEN TREATED SO DISGUSTINGLY by a business in my life. If I could give them a -100 review I would honestly. My poor daughter witnessed this and became upset thinking she'd done something. IN the end yes I swore at him to let us eat, honestly just so worked up about this whole situation. WHY is it ok for other people who had 5pm bookings to stay all night and we had to be out by 7:30?? I had a confirmed booking had they bothered to ask to see it. When we left at 7:45pm, disgusted, of course NO ONE had arrived for their supposed booking, because it was OURS. NEVER AGAIN will I return and I will tell everyone I know NEVER to go here unless they wanted to be treated...

Came in tonight for dinner with a large group for a family birthday dinner. Understandably the night was busy for the restaurant, but the food was utterly appalling. I'm sorry but I would not recommend, I ordered a rib eye steak - rare with surf and turf. Around $70 you'd expect the steak to be cooked as requested and the "surf and turf" to be worth while. Meal took close to 45 minutes to come out, when served was cold and steak overcooked. 3 messily overcooked prawns on a skewer on top of the steak and half a portion of garlic cream sauce on the side. No salad dressing and chips cold and limp. My partner got a meatlovers pizza which has whole sliced ham on it which hadn't been presented well & barely edible. Soggy crust and rubbery texture. My son got a kids steak, burnt and tasted of charcoal. He was not keen in the slightest and for $20 for a kids meal..wow. We also go 2 starters. Cheesy garlic bread which was burnt and hard & the karaage chicken boa buns which had no sauce and were bland and well overcooked to the point that the chicken resembled the crud you'd find at the bottom of a oil deep fryer. $186.30 total for meals that were just disappointing.. kids didn't even want to have their free ice cream at the end of the night they were over it. Spoke to a women running tables that said she would issue a refund and come back to the table, waited for almost half and hour before deciding it was time to go home and write a review. This saddens me because I am compassionate about the Ballarat cookery industry.. but this was undoubtedly the worst meal as a family we have experienced. And that was our table alone, out of 30 guests I believe only a handful were able to comfortably finish their meals which were Parmas. Surprised that they weren't a complete mess to be fair from the rest of the meals served. I'm not suggesting it's always this bad, but from this experience it's clear to me that I won't be taking my family or friends back to this restaurant for a meal any time soon. The refund we were told would be issued would have been a good start to rebuilding the confidence into coming back for a better experience but I wasn't going to make my kids stand in line and wait a further hour for someone else to address the issue. When trading as Zegames, the meals served were a tribute to...

We booked a table a day in advance for a celebratory lunch on 23/03/2025. We had eaten here before and it has usually been pretty good.

Unfortunately, we didn’t have a great experience. When ordering I asked for the kids meal to be brought out first as my 14 month old was hungry and getting a bit cranky. We had to ask a few times for a high chair. Serving staff were lovely and understandably it was very busy and they seemed stressed. After ordering the meals we were given vouchers for a free kids drink and dessert which I thought was nice. We had spent close to $350 on drinks and food.

We waited perhaps a good 40 mins for food to come out. Three of the 8 meals were brought out and waited another 20 mins for the remaining meals including the kids meal (which I’d asked to come first). Food was a little bit cold but not terrible. I’m not usually one for complaining so I didn’t make much of a fuss. Our toddler really enjoyed her meal and all orders were correct. Most people liked their meals. My teens said the golden point burger seemed a bit odd (sauce was watery/ runny) but wasn’t terrible.

We then used the vouchers given plus additional orders of drinks and desserts and after waiting 30 mins I thought I’d check on the order. They said the dessert orders didn’t exist and they only gave us one of the four desserts ordered. No refund was offered and the person serving me didn’t provide a receipt so it was tricky. I didn’t worry about the vouchers because it was free but no one followed up and they just shrugged at me because they could see they had stuff allocated in the system but couldn’t specify my order so they just didn’t fulfill it.

Fast forward to later in the evening when we got home and all but two of us have food poisoning (the toddler was spared thankfully) and have been very unwell for the past day. I did try to call and let them know but didn’t get an answer.

I feel awful leaving a negative review after many good experiences but after spending so much money and not so great service I don’t think we...
