I used the place around 2:30 today. One of my family members was using a wheelchair, so there was a wide empty table next to the door, so I sat there. I approached the staff and said, “I’m sorry, but there’s a family member in a wheelchair, so I had to sit there. I’m sorry, but can you please clean up the table?” She looked angry and said she had to clean up and sit down. I apologized again. She spilled a cup full of water in the middle while cleaning up the table, and it was spilling all over the floor. I thought she would come back and clean up, but she only cleaned up the tables where there were no people and didn’t come to our messy table. I went to another staff member and asked her, and she said okay, but she didn’t come. Unfortunately, the place wasn’t busy. After a while, the food came out, and I gave up and eventually took out tissues from my bag and wiped everything. My family said that it seemed like racism, but I said no, but I thought maybe it wasn’t. My family came from far away for the first time on a family trip, and we had such a happy and precious time, but I was hurt at our last destination, Sovereign Hill, and I felt sorry for my family, so my face was red and I couldn’t sleep until this late hour, so I’m writing this. Please pay attention to employee training and I hope that no one will ever be hurt by such ridiculous...

Came here for lunch on Sund 21st July, 2024, whilst visiting sovereign hill. The food was average. The popcorn chicken was dry and difficult to eat. There service by one waitress, Mia, was extremely terrible. She clearly didn't want to be at work and didn't smile at all. She walked us to our table then ignored us for the rest of the time. She gave us normal menus, due to medical reasons, I can't eat full sized meals so I asked Mia for a kids menu. She said yes then walked off never to return. I watched her for a but and she was seating other guests and was clear she wasn't returning. After about 15 minutes of waiting, I put my hand up to get her attention, she looked at me, waved and then proceeded to clear a table. She didn't even take the dirty dishes to the back, she just put them on another table with dirty dishes and left them for another waitress to clean up. Gave her another 5 mins before getting frustrated and walking up to another waitress for assistance. The waitress was Hannah. She was extremely polite, friendly and had amazing customer service. She made us feel welcome and kept apologising for the terrible service Mia provided us earlier. Hannah is an asset to the company unlike Mia. She needs further training in customer service and if she hates her job, maybe she should...

Walked in early, no one else there so theres no excuse for bad service just wanted a coffee and snack to get things rolling for the day. But this particular day the service was very very slow, especially when you’re the only ones in there…….waitress was young, very slow and not all there in attentive mode….maybe its not the best job for her but at least show your interest or have the respect in front of customers…..also the side glare and stink eye from her doesn't really help your business either. After a 30 min experience she at least gave a side smile when placing the coffee in front of me, went back for lunch but same experience, few more people in there but its just the staff I think, the food was average, not worth what you pay for it either. Best advice?- Pack a lunch, drinks and take a thermos for your hot drinks, if you have to go in there, soft drinks are the...

Day 1 of our anniversary trip to Ballarat (2 March) we went to Sovereign Hill and we got: FROM NEW YORK BAKERY 🥪 Homestead Corned Beef Sandwich ☕️ Devonshire Tea (Scones & Tea) This is the perfect spot for lunch, sitting close to the windows overlooking the camps & gold panning spot. We enjoyed the thicc & toasted sandwich paired nicely with crisps, and probably one of the best (if not the best) scones we’ve had ‼️ The scones were massive yet fluffy, the jam & cream hit the right spots. We’re honestly dreaming of coming back just for the scones 😅 We spent the the whole day in Sovereign Hill and it was so fun! Highly recommend if you’ve never been or if you have visited but haven’t tried the dishes above 👆🏻

Very nice nice themed restaurant located inside the Sovereign Hill town. We had the Pulled Pork Sandwich which was very flavourful, the mustard chutney on the sandwich was a perfect complement to the pork. We also had the Pot Pie and the Chocolate Tart which is also good. The decor is beautiful and the staff dressed in colonial costume gives you the feeling of being back in time. We found the staff to be very friendly despite the holiday crowd and are very happy with our experience there. 👍

Had a wonderful day at sovereign hill and noted the change in management of the New York Bakery. Excellent service (given they were hell busy) Food was great and definitely something I’d order again. We ordered the lamb and barley soup (just to die for), sliders and pork jowl. All were bloody great to tell the truth. See the pics (apologies we were hungry and started eating before I remembered to grab some pics) Well done to the team there and thanks a heap for a great meal.
