Taj indian Kitchen & Kebab Shop Goondiwindi — Restaurant in Goondiwindi

We ordered our 2 curries and Naan breads at 6:30pm, after we paid we were told it would take 40 minutes.

After getting some dessert from Coles, and a premixed drink from the bottle shop, we returned to the restaurant at 7:10pm, the people who ordered before us were still waiting and looking annoyed. At 7:45pm (1hr 15mins later) our food was ready, albeit with only one rice instead of two... And ours was ready before the people who had been waiting longer?!

After sorting that out we went back to our motel. Upon getting changed into our flannelette pyjamas and cracking open our beverages, we sat down to eat. We discovered that our curries had only 4 or 5 pieces of meat swimming in a watered down spicy tomato soup of sorts. The Naan breads were cold, rubbery and dry; likewise the rice was dry and flavour-less.

Overall we experienced poor service, long waits, no communication and edible but disappointing food. Also there was a piece of bark ? in my Rogan Josh... hopefully it was some kind of...

Waited almost 90 minutes for 2 curries, rice and garlic naan (takeaway), and weren’t the only customers waiting for over an hour. Had to go back because they forgot the rice and wait for another five minutes. The rice was dry and tasteless, curries were so bland and watered down it was like cheap tinned soup. Only 6 small pieces of chicken in one curry and 4 pieces of lamb and a large, hard piece of solid spice in the other. Naan was extremely dry and bland. Overall the food was edible but terrible, would have been better off with a microwave meal from the coles...

Waited for quite a while only to find out we didn’t got the whole order. Did not say anything about it, since the ordering process took quite long already. (Pictures on their menu are just for decoration) All 3 of us got sick overnight of food poisoning. This place is the only place where we have aten together.
