I’ll admit I set my expectations low when on the odd occasion I am forced to go to a fast food outlet to avoid starvation. Unfortunately, even with an incredibly small hurdle to jump for me to define my visit to Red Rooster South Goulburn as a success, I experienced nothing short of a face plant. The restaurant itself (which is relatively new at the time of writing this) was so small it was nearly commcial with no where to stand, aside from next to a bin or in the way of other customers coming through the door (those poor souls, if only they knew what they were in for)
The staff seem as though they were only there because they lost a bet and were forced to do a shift at Red Rooster, and the only thing slower than them was the food service itself.
I was served chips that were so undercooked they could only be described as albino, and when I asked for new chips I had to wait for everyone who order ahead of me to be served because they “didn’t have any chips ready”...that’s right, a fast food joint on a highway isn’t prepared for a scenario where two or more people want chips AT THS SAME TIME. So rather than serve the unhappy customer with the lowest possible expectations (such as cooked chips) other (yet to be disappointed) customer took priority.
After waiting long enough that I could have gone to the supermarket, bought some McCains chips, crawled home, built a fire AND F**KING COOKED THEM MYSELF, I left. I have no idea what was taking so long, the staff were probably out the back painting chicken brown to pass it off as lamb (limited time only, get in quick to experience a whole new flavor of disappointment)
If any good can come of the experience it is this... Go to Tappers Bakery across the road, local business serving up good fresh food, not horrid undercooked nightmares.
No wonder Red Rooster is going out...
Read moreWhile dining at this establishment with 5 adult members of our family and a 2 year old child, I discovered a live worm inside the wrap I had ordered. I have attached photographic and video evidence of the worm for your reference.
When I brought this alarming issue to the attention of the staff, I was met with dismissiveness and rudeness. The employees refused to take responsibility and did not allow me to speak with the manager or escalate the issue. Instead, they privately discussed the matter amongst themselves and informed me that all they could do was refund the cost of the wrap only. They refused to address the rest of the meal, which I could not consume due to the distressing discovery. Furthermore, they claimed that the issue was the supplier's responsibility, not theirs in a very rude way.
Give training to all of your front staffs otherwise, you are very close to shutting down your business. And if you have real guts, I would want the owner to come and...
