We ordered 3 main meals and a soup for $85. The honey chicken was ok but it’s disappointing when you bite into a piece and it’s mainly batter, the ratio of chicken to batter should be better. The Mongolian beef was ok but the sauce was very minimal and very light in colour, so I assume it was watered down also way too many vegetables roughly cut to take up room and once again minimal meat. The chicken in black bean noodle dish was pretty good but once again minimal meat. Soup was fine. It’s a little bit sad when you order a meal, expecting a nice meal but receive a disappointing one instead. I fully understand businesses are trying to make a healthy profit but when you order from a small restaurant with lower overheads compared to bigger establishments you expect something reasonable. Also the photos on this site show meals with a reasonable amount of meat, so I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect we’d receive the same. It’s a shame because we do try to support...
Read moreFor my birthday recently we had the most delicious Chinese we've had in a long time! Used to always go to China Corner when they were down on Redcliffe Parade if anyone remembers that. They're now on Victoria Avenue in Margate (likely different chefs/owners now as that was a very long time ago) - OMG we are all so full and every dish was amazing, just like it used to be! Highly recommend if you're looking for Chinese on the peninsula! We could not have enjoyed it anymore 😁😁😁 oh and the pricing is on point too! (Don't order through Uber eats etc. if you don't need to - realised it's about $8 or so more expensive per dish to order through that! We ordered and picked up after we picked up a menu during the week. I couldn't select all the dishes we had but they were beef with cashew, chicken with almond, lemon chicken, bbq pork in plum sauce, sweet and sour pork and the...
Read moreTook mum to dine in today and we both really enjoyed it. We had the Shredded Steak Michael Style which was similar to sweet sour pork but with the use of beef instead of pork. The sauce was a twist but got a nice balance tang to it. We served it with Singapore Noodles, which was also a good choice with a nice variety and generous amount of protein. The meal was then topped off with their Dessert Spring Rolls. Now these you will need to try!, the custard fillings were delish but not too sweet (perfect for my palate). The crust is your typical spring rolls but the crispiness worked so well as a dessert. It was a wonderful ending to a solid dining experience. Overall we had a great time, friendly staffs and comfy environment. The portions were generous and the pricing was good. A hidden gem in the area. Worth checking out if you are...
