First of all, this would have to be the smallest Botanic Gardens anywhere in Queensland; there's not a great deal to see. That being said, it might be okay if not for the cacophony of infernal screeching from the nightmarish clouds of flying foxes that have colonised the area. And if you can find an area away from them, then the other birds will equally compete to see who can drive you insane first; it seems they have a competition going?

Read moreThis is very much a local stroll through gardens. There are no giant old trees. Mostly it's local native trees, with some garden beds consisting of hardy plants that can look after themselves, as well as herb gardens.
Very much a community-based park, those involved include various local clubs as well as individual volunteers.
One of the parks inhabitants which are not always welcomed are bats which hang from branches like black blooms. However, as a marriage celebrant I've conducted weddings here without any mishap.

Read moreNot sure what to say, there were bats.... a lot of bats and it was an awesome sight. I was there for about 1.5 hours and spent most of that time looking at the bats and trying to get photos of them.
On the other hand the rest was mostly uninteresting, kinda dirty and run down which is really sad. Maybe it was the wrong time of year to visit. I am sure the volunteers work hard but it is clearly in need of some govt funding or more funding if it I already is to tidy it up and make it more appealing.
