I had not been back to this venue in years - and was surprised to see it exactly the same. There has been no money spent... and I dont think the place has had a good clean in that time. The main hall area by the bar and out to the deck looks like a 1990's bistro - with zero atmosphere.

The pungent smell inside is that of an old public bar as you walk through onto the deck. It was awful. Shampoo the carpets and get some natural light and ventilation in there!

We went to the central bar area from the front entry on the way through to the deck to meet our friends. There was a rude middle aged male with bald head working the bar with a bit of a line up. He berated a young staff member in front of us all. When it came to our turn - his "greeting" to us was "Yes?".... He is old enough to know better, and I bet if he is rude to his younger team front of house, I can only imagine how he speaks to them back of house.

Still a really nice view over the Marina! And with the exception of the oysters - that's where the positives ended unfortunately.

I had the dozen natural oysters for entree - and at $39, they are not cheap for this kind of establishment, but they were fresh and good quality and I enjoyed them. Unfortunately, the salt shaker was empty at our table, as was our Neighbours, so we had a community salt shaker from another table that was shared around between tables.

For Mains I had the Seafood Plate at $36 It was utterly disgusting. Hands down THE Worst meal I have been served in a long while. I have had way better at a service station roadhouse in the outback! $36 for a fairly small selection of frozen thickly crumbed offerings you might expect at an outback roadhouse. The "Flat head" fillets were thickly crumbed fish fingers! The platter itself is fairly large, but made up with cold chips and a large pile of pre-packaged salad that was not dressed.

PLEASE!!!, you are on a marina with seafood trawlers on your door step on one of the best fisheries in the world. Charging $36 for a small plate of fried terrible quality cheap frozen crumbed seafood... Where is the love? The quality is really really bad! The chips on my plate were stone cold. The "Salad" was the prepacked 5 leaf salad you buy from coles with the token shards of carrot etc.. Most disturbing, there was a 1mm slick of yellow oil on my plate under where the fried thickly crumbed frozen seafood was sitting.. YUCK! They asked me if I wanted to take it home lol. The poor seagulls would not eat it!

My mate beside me had the Thai Beef Salad for $30 It was a 6/10. NOT worth the $30 for s salad - that is over the top. Dont expect fresh fragrant zing nor any heat. It wont wow you like a $30 salad should. It is "OK" / eatable and the peanuts added a nice texture. Pick of the meals at the table.

Others wanted the Works Burger and the steak sandwich from the menu - but low an behold - they are available EVERY day including Saturday lunch and Sunday evening - but NOT Sunday Lunch? Why? AT $26 and $29 respectively - they are not cheap - so why would you "Ban" them on Sunday lunch? Too long to cook / assemble something fresh? Just added salt to our wo... arhh ... well no , there was that salt shortage too.

The sun was belting in and with the plastic roof (more on that shortly) - we started feeling like a BBQ chook at coles/ Well after most diners were finished - someone came out and dropped the blinds lol - but should have been done hours before.

The white plastic roof over the deck... Dont look up while eating, you might just vom. PHURLEASE - give it a good spray with bleach and hit it with a gerni. Enclosing diners in a hot box with a mouldy roof can not be a healthy experience.

A really good physical venue with a lovely outlook, but let down by sheer lack of maintenance, a really rude unfriendly staff member, high prices and utterly deplorable quality food and weird menu rules.

Morgans fish and chips and fresh seafood runs rings around this place and just down the road and...

Service - I want to give a special shout out to Jesse. You are a smart young man, who thinks on your feet and has great attention to details. You will go far, you have initiative and you are motivated. And I want to thank Petra ( I think that's her name) for being a great hostess.

Food - The food was good, the oysters was fresh and plump, the fresh fruits were super sweet and beautiful, therefore, the premium seafood platter for two was good. The grill barramundi was flavoursome however, I felt that the fish itself was not the freshest.

Atmosphere - Now that's where things went pear shaped. I was confused as to what category of restaurant / club / sport bar / fish & chip shop the Morgans or a pub the Moreton Bay Boat Club is supposed to be. I can say for certain that it did not feel like a boat club. The prices are not of a fish & chip shop but the line up to order your food and drinks felt like I was in a local pub or next door. We were seated outside on the deck with the view overlooking the marina, which felt like a boat club. But the marina view deck has a Keno screen and a smoking area, making it back to feeling like a pub / sport bar. There was no table service, it was hard to find service while seated at the table. Meaning every time I needed something I had to walk back inside to find a wait staff. If there were wait staff available, we would have ordered more drinks while eating. But no one wanted to stop halfway through our meal to go inside to line up for a drink. There was a dress code but most people had thongs on their feet which it did not say you couldn't. My issue is what's the point of a dress code if you can walk in with a singlet, shorts and thongs? Once again confusion. We ordered a premium seafood platter but got two empty bowls for shells. Should not one of them be a finger bowl with lemon water? After going inside to ask for one, I got a bowl with 20 mm of water and three tiny bits of lemon. It barely covered the tip of my fingers. The service was hit and miss, depending on the staff, with Jesse being the best. With a renovation costing over a million dollars, I don't understand why the canopy covering the marina view deck was old and dirty. The tiny live entertainment corner was so insignificant, it looked like the entertainers were in time out. I think the Moreton Bay boat club has an identity crisis, that needs to be...

We booked and had breakfast here on Mothers day morning. We arrived on time and we were seated right away. It took, 10 or so minutes for someone to come and take our orders. Three of us ordered coffee's, one an iced coffee and two juices. It took about 20minutes for the juice and iced coffee's and it took an hour for one coffee, which was cold and had no froth. It was sent back and it came back with the other two which were all the same, cold and no froth, all three were sent back and they came out ok, still cold. We were also told they had no tea spoons for us for our coffees and we had to use string sticks (essentially paddle pop sticks) the food came out after nearly and hour and a half, it was terrible, dry scrambled eggs, the kids pancakes were the exact same size as the adults ones even though you pay nearly an extra $10 for the adult serve, two pancakes a sliced up banana and a scoop of ice cream. The omelette didn't have the fillings cut up, they were just chucked in after it had been cooked and then folded up. Over all very disappointing considering there were some great reviews. We ended up sitting around as the view was nice and the kids were playing. As we had waited so long for breakfast it took no time before it was lunch time and we saw the meals coming out that actually looked good, so we ordered a seafood dish to share and it was really nice, despite the rude staff on at lunch. For a big day like mothers day they had next to no staff and what was clearly a trainee on the coffee machine. Would go back if in the area for lunch, but not...

The Moreton Bay Boat Club was the perfect venue for our recent Wedding. Our 70 guests loved the ease of both the ceremony and reception being in the one place, and the deck and restaurant being under cover meant we didn’t have to think of an alternative when the storms and torrential rains hit - which they did!! In particular we would like to acknowledge MBBC Functions Coordinator, Silene - right from our first contact, she was an amazing help! Professional, informative, helpful, we immediately knew we were in great hands and we continued to feel that way right up until the end of our reception. The day wasn’t without its challenges, especially the weather, young kids and a doggie who made a special entrance, but the lengths the MBBC staff went to (inc standing in the pouring rain with umbrellas to ensure the bridal party could park close to the door and away from puddles), was a testament to their service and dedication. All of our friends commented on how good the food was (especially the prawns) and how well organised, relaxed and fun the day and night was - a big part of that was due to Silene and her team. Highly recommend the MBBC for a Peninsula Wedding or event.

Have been here numerous times but had my first lunch here after the Reno’s, which look great. Was looking forward to a fish and chips but not on the menu any more. Closest to it was a Seafood plate which said it had 2 fillets of fish plus prawns calamari etc but the fish fillets were more the size of chicken tenders. This should have been called a fisherman’s basket. However it tasted good. Main gripe would be the time it takes to get your meal. First you have to place your order in one single queue which can take a while when busy. Should really have QR codes on the table so you can skip the queue. Secondly my simple meal took an hour to come out. So having come in at 12.45pm I didn’t get to eat my meal until 2pm. As others have noted there is no table service either. Appreciate there are kinks to work out but please work them out asap. However the club looks great, has a great setting for casual family lunches and dinners, and the food was good (but could be better)
