I grew up on Moreton Bay - long since moved inland, only returning infrequently. One thing that irks me about "fish and chip" outlets in coastal areas is that they predominantly use frozen and/or imported fillets.
Well, hasn't Perry's just blown this stereotype out of the water.
A couple of quaint little mobile structures adjacent to Foodworks, manned by a couple of very friendly folk. Only fresh, local fish is on offer. Pricing was very reasonable given the product quality, and this mob knows how to cook seafood. I chose the Jew - my wife and her mother had whiting. My mother-in-law always chooses "cod" by default so this was an interesting choice on her part.
Perfectly fried fillet, good chips and the calamari and prawns were great as well. Absolutely loved the experience and keen to return on my next visit. Leagues ahead of other outlets on the island serving...
Read moreRecommended by a local, I was sent to try Perry’s seafood for their fish and chips - and I was rewarded with exquisite battered Bream with hot chips which were fresh and tasty! The little food truck and friendliness of the staff were so welcoming and laid back. I was told (by the local that guided me to Perry’s) it’s the only freshly caught fish on the island and IT WAS DELICIOUS.
I was not disappointed, and have a locally caught, locally made meal made in heaven (that is Minjerribah). Also if you’re a pancake fan, try the pancakes and fish!!!...
