Point Lookout Bowls Club — Restaurant in Greater Brisbane

It amazes me this bistro is still in business....I don't expect 5 star service from a bowls club but the way we were treated has left me to believe they treat the bin birds better than their guests! We tried to book the courtesy bus on Friday night and the staff member on the phone treated me rudely throughout the entire process. After waiting 30mins for the bus to show up, I called again to see where it was (he didn't remember talking to me), and he placed me on hold (I was not on hold and could hear him talking to a woman)...he advised he didn't know ( "everyone's ditched me") and would call me back...a call that never came! We decided to give it a second chance the next night as we had no food left in our airbnb & no car to go out at night. This time the bus was 20mins late but at least it showed up. Upon arrival the waitstaff treated us with attitudes and we waited 25mins for our order to be taken and another 30 for it to arrive. I'm not sure how it took so long as most of our meal came from the hot boxes in front of the kitchen, causing everything to taste dry and old. Throughout all of this I watched as the staff continued to blatantly ignore dropped food and dirty plates on tables. Besides being lazy and disgusting, this is a clear violation of health and safety. As someone who has worked in hospitality before, normally I get it....but this place is just ridiculous, don't...

Ordinary to say the least. Rude when booking the table. First time I’ve witnessed a barman remove a beer head with fingers. Despite been half empty, we were put under the black mouldy roof section with two buckets, one either side catching drips from the ceiling. We moved our own table away from the buckets. We waited over an hour for fish and chips, plus a mushroom and olive fettuccine, which arrived without mushrooms or olives but loads of cauliflower and carrots. When we returned it, it came back with mushrooms and olives (still with pips in them) plus all the original stuff still there. The long wait time was made more enjoyable by watching the confused look on the faces of wait staff and chefs as each meal was prepared. We were by no means the only people that got wrong meals and had a long wait. Unfortunately we didn’t think to take photos, but the mould is clearly visible if you’ve got time to visit. I rarely complain as people genuinely try their best, but there was nothing positive in this experience. Oh hang on, the garlic bread was nice, and...

terrible place to eat, horrible service and the worst food

we’ve been there twice and the first time we were there we waited at least 40mins, they had forgotten the meals and when we reminded them they shoved us away and told us to wait, the food wasn’t worth waiting for.

second time we were there i ordered a lemon lime and bitters from the bar that was just bitter no sweetness to it almost like they forgot the sweetness.

secondly, the person i was with ordered the schnitzel and the first time it came out, the inside was red.

it was practically still alive and moving.

also to mention the added ‘sauce’ on the schnitzel was $5 extra and the salad that came on the side of the schnitzel was just plain leaves with half cut up bits of tomato.

they then sent it back to the chef and we waited another 20mins and when it finally came out the inside was pink.

absolutely terrible, don’t go there to eat and all of this is coming...
