Dolce Dolce — Restaurant in Griffith City Council

Poor value, terrible service, food was okay though. I arrived alone at 7:30. I was handed a menu and waved to a table where I sat myself. I ordered a glass of wine and gnocchi. Gnocchi was $35...about a dollar per potato puff. It was good. Server came back and said they didn't have one of the only two white wines they offer by the glass (how hard is it to know whether 1 of 2 wines is in stock???). I selected the other one that I hadn't ordered. Neither, by the way, are on the menu, you'll learn the price ($9) when you get the bill. Received wine. No water, no bread, the food came, the server disappeared. Period. Did not return at all. Done, I went to ask for the check. Server walked past me to the other end of the bar where it was convenient for them to take money. I walked all the way to the other end of the bar. I was told a price. I asked for an itemized bill. I’m writing this for my Mum who has just spent 10 mins telling me about how terrible her experience was eating at Dolce Dolce. What went wrong? Booking was for 5, 2 people were sick. The 3 who turned up were charged an extra $100 plus gst for those who couldn’t make it. The service was slow - they ended up taking away dessert because it was so late (with no price reduction). Very loud. People going to the toilet had to squeeze past tables and go through the kitchen. They won’t...

Nice atmosphere. One of the entrees was great! The other lacked flavour. Both mains were tasty but over cooked (Cod was over cooked and dry. Spatchcock was over cooked, dry and rubbery). Provided polite feedback when paying over $190 for the two of us and wished them well, only to be told 'we've been established for over 30 years'.
