Chopsticks Viet Whitford — Restaurant in Hillarys

Delicious food. $12 lemongrass beef Bahn Mi was so tasty and fresh and such good value. Lemon chicken was succulent and fresh tasty too (especially for a fried dish). Quite quiet though, not much of a vibe which is a shame. Staff a little rushed to take our order - we sat down as one of 4 tables in the restaurant around 7:45pm. Came to take our order twice while we were clearly flicking through the (rather large and delicious looking) menu. Food service was quick which is appreciated. But then as their kitchen shuts at 8:30pm they literally started rapidly wiping and stacking tables around us and then really making it clear they wanted us to leave by bustling around, loudly shutting the sliding doors etc......about 20mins after our food was served. As we were paying and leaving we spotted 3 X take away orders lined up so not even like they were actually able to shut up as such that quickly.

Waited outside the restaurant for about 10mins after we were bustled out (as my partner went to the loo) and watched 4 X family groups head to them for dinner and walk away as they were shut. That's a lot of business to miss out on in 10mins!

Such a shame as food was really quite good. Maybe better for an early...

This was delish. We went school holidays thursday at 2pm. We had the beef skewers which were great. They had onion and red capsicum on there and were deliciously charred, but the meat was still tender. I'm a bit fussy on chewy beef kebabs and they must have marinated the steak because it was yummy. Also it came with a spiced salt, I couldn't work out what the salt was, but I wish I could because it was good.

Then we both went with raw beef pho. Heaps of meat, noodles, and then sprouts and herbs on the side. Great flavour, exactly what I wanted. I had a cold viet milky coffee that I really enjoyed, partner had a hot one the same, very nice. They have alcohol available, and a small GF menu

Staff were friendly and efficient. The food all came out all at once, which seems to be becoming a thing in Perth, so maybe mention if you want it staggered. All up, I'm looking forward to going back and trying something else...

7:45pm - Asked for a table for 4 , we were taken to a table. Menu came out 5 min later and I got up to order drinks while the others looked at menu. Meanwhile people are still being seated. I order and pay for drinks to then be told we have 5 minutes to order before kitchen closes?????? Wrong wine bottle came out because didn’t have the one we wanted (could have said at time of ordering). Food came out and was very nice but we had to scoff it down because they said we’re closing at 9 so please hurry. The other groups then proceeded to order only to be told the kitchen is closed ??? Wonder if owner knows how business is run. We the walked over two doors over and had a few more drinks. Very weird. Refused about 5 groups of people while we scoffed our food..$$$$...
