Been a regular at this Whitfords branch for awhile. Have usually been met with good service but was appalled at the service we had earlier.
Not sure what has changed but it was apparent the food quality on the train was questionable and the response from the staff was no good as well.
Took my mom out to lunch this WA Day. She had picked something off the train that had raw salmon and avocado. Noticed after eating half of it that the fish was slightly off color and avocado was grey brown showing both were off/stale. We called the server over to inform of this and to take it away and not to be charged. My mom did not want a new serving either… she was put off. I noticed that some of the other salmon sushi i had was also not very fresh… different consistency, like it was not kept cold enough and sitting at room temp for too long. Didn’t want to make a fuss any further and went to pay the bill.
Upon receiving the bill i found they had still charged for the plate we had sent away. Was told it was consumed, when i interrupted and said “it wasn’t” and that we informed them of the issue. The cashier insisted that there was no issue as his manager and chef inspected the contents and found no problem. I was shocked at the response.
They did not tell us when we were still dining that we had to pay or that they would change it, just left it to charge at the end like they didn’t care. Put me off totally. Not about that money… it was a $6.95 plate in a $56 bill. Not going back there as i don’t feel like getting food poisoning or...
Read moreWe've been here a few times and had an average experience, with each visit worse than the last. Tonight has left a huge distaste in the venue after we left the venue early and went to another restaurant within the complex. Food: the portion sizes have reduced since we were last there, particularly the plain inari. Some train items didn't have a lid, and others had their lids half knocked off. Everything had an underwhelming place, and the mini spring rolls seemed like the supermarket freezer ones. Cost: all we got were 3 train items - plain inari, mini spring rolls, chicken sushi roll. All up it was $17 - one red (inari), one green (sushi), and one orange plate (mini spring rolls). Menu main dishes though are upwards of $20 ea., and train items ordered from the menu are more expensive, even though they're the same thing. Service: absolutely terrible. If you sit at the back where the chefs are cooking, good luck getting served! I called the staff over 4 times, and ignored each time. When they eventually came, I asked for water and said we'd be ready to order in 2 minutes - they never returned, so we left. I couldn't believe how bad the service was tonight. They weren't that busy, and weren't friendly or helpful.
My recommendation would be to try anywhere else. This place is not worth the visit anymore. Such a shame because we loved it when...
Read moreWe ordered one Phad Thai with prawns as a take out & when we got home we discovered it was Phad Thai chicken even though we had been charged for seafood.
We also ordered two pineapple fried rice with chicken. These dishes, it appears were prepared with rice, chicken & pineapple & then had some spices thrown over them but the spices weren’t actually used to cook the dish. It was dry and tasteless with powdered spices visible in the dish.
It would appear that the restaurant doesn’t apply the same quality control when serving takeout meals as they know that the chances of a complaint are minimal. We have had numerous meals whilst dining in at the same branch and have generally been satisfied with the standards.
Really disappointed as it spoilt a special occasion takeout dinner. When I called the manager the following day the attitude was very much “so what”.
Buyer beware especially considering the...
