Banjo’s Bakery Café – Sorell — Restaurant in Hobart

I do love this place and its food and coffee selections.

However,

4th Dec 2021 I need to say something about their online experience in the hope they can change it for the better.

I feel you are disadvantaged using this app for online ordering. 3x times now at Sorell branch I have ordered online and had to wait until someone noticed the printed ticket. First 2 times I was asked after they served other customers if I wanted something then they noticed the ticket once I told them, the 3rd time (just now at 0800 Saturday 4th Dec) I was in before about 6 other customers, they didnt notice until they were serving the first customer of that 6 and I got my food after those 6 people had their order. I then had to explain myself to the represenetaives and they miss-interpreted what i said and then mis-represented what i said to the manager so I had to further explain, the whole point of online for me is discreteness i feel and this was the opposite experience I had. It was an all round disadvantaged situation and I feel it needs more work to successfully sell your online experiance.

The coffee was prompt and in the correct order, so spot on there.

update 15th Dec 21 The Banjo's team have since come back to me and said they've taken onboard my experiences in the hopes to model a solution to this issue going forward. I hope it is technology based in line with their app i.e. screens that go direct to someonr out the back cooking and the barista and not just 'telling' the staff to be more mindful, as that is just human nature and that...

Our experience here started out badly, but ended well. Being new tourists in the country, we at first declined the offer of adding a $1 donut to our coffee order. While waiting in a LONG queue for our coffees, we changed our minds about the donut offer. We went straight back to ask if we could alter our order by adding the donuts. The reply was a very curt “No”. When fetching our coffees, we politely expressed our frustration to the lady making the coffees. She called a senior staff member who, after hearing our experience, immediately changed our order and added the donuts! The donuts and coffees were absolutely delicious and we left feeling...

This is the type bakery cafe I've been looking for....13 variety of donuts on the day I was there. Good donuts, soft and airy. I usually avoid donuts that have too much on top of them, but the whipped icing on top was airy and not overly sweet. Tasty!! Yum. Large variety of good pies (we had meat, curry chicken and of course when in Tassie a scallop pie). Two people on the expresso machine pumping out coffees was good to see (and very different to my experience to other bakery cafes where the coffee is usually made by those that don't seem confident in using the espresso machine).
