Bento Shoreline — Restaurant in Hobart

UPDATE: Food ordered on 12/01/25 around 6pm. Chicken was NOT hot so it definitely was NOT "Cooked fresh!". There was 2 customers instore AND it was a Monday, so it wasn't busy.

(VISITORS FROM QLD STAYING 6 MINUTES DRIVE AWAY, Bellerive) We ordered 2x Fried chicken Don, 1x mixed bento box, 2x spring rolls, 1x Gyoza, 1x diet coke, 1x marble drink pick up. (25mins MAX from time of order to pick up to returning to accommodation to eat)

Chicken was not fresh, it was old/stale/dry and hard to the bite! I'm going to say the chicken must've been atleast 8 hours old, sitting in a warmer! I couldn't eat due to fear of losing teeth. The other person couldn't eat hers out of fear of choking! To be fair she has a disability, however, she's able to eat wicked wings from KFC without hassle.

Person who ordered the bento box enjoyed her meal, that counts for something I guess.

Gyozo were cold, spring rolls were as one would expect.

Would I recommend? No. Would I return? No.

Recommendation? COOK YOUR...

It wasn't easy, but eventually we found them. Not the food, but unfriendly/unhappy people in Tasmania. The lady taking orders is so grumpy you'd think she's being forced to work here.

We like Japanese food and have had it many times in Japan and also back home. In comparison the food here is a pale shadow of the real deal, especially the rice which had no fragrance. The service, the environment and the food just doesn't offer enough value considering the prices we were being charged. We didn't return.

Not a bad bento, honestly isn’t my favourite! Much prefer the Elizabeth or Kingston Bento but non the less it was a great experience as usual! The staff are really nice and give great friendly service! The sushi on the day we had it was a little old and a bit hard to swallow, otherwise it was very yummy especially the beef sushi, something which is new for me but we soooooo yummy and highly recommend!
