Nice little cafe with a relaxed atmosphere in a lovely spot located next to the HMAS OXLEY Submarine memorial in the rural town of Holbrook in New South Wales. We dropped in for breakfast, before viewing the Submarine Museum. The menu was reasonable, without being great. I had eggs Benedict, it was tasty and well presented, my partner went for an omelette with bacon on toast, it too was quite tasty. However, the cafe let itself down with the portion size when compared to the cost of the meals. The omelette a small serving and the eggs Benedict could have done with a larger serving of salmon and some extras. The Chai latte was luke warm (we had requested that it be extra hot) and the cappuccino had a burnt taste. When you pay over $60 for a breakfast, one expects better than what was provided. Overall it failed the litmus test for ‘Value for money’ Recommended….. sadly, No Would we return…..again, No, there are better options in town.

Submarine Cafe of Holbrook is a great little dine in or takeaway cafe with a good menu to choose from also cold drinks available here! The staff are extremely friendly with good service to match, and the location is perfect with a large open grass area.... The large submarine makes it a lovely spot to have a bite to eat or a hot cuppa. For us, we ordered plain pie and 2 sausage rolls and a Cappuccino, which hit to spot! Great sitting inside or on the deck of the cafe or one of the tables in the park out the front of the cafe... Toilet facilities can be found across the road from the large Submarine.

This was the perfect lunch break on our highway trip. First, the soups were incredible and the prices were great (16 for soup and toast). It’s right next to a submarine you can climb on, and just across the road was a great playground for the kids to climb and swing after sitting for so long. I noticed some dedicated RV parking that included rainwater, potable water, and black & grey drain. The cafe service was friendly and quick - but the quality of the food is really the star. My Tai Sweet Potato soup was one of the best soups I’ve ever had. Thanks for a great lunch!

Two stars for the food. They loose stars for staff and service. My husband and I ordered two steak burgers, his was steak and mine was a hamburger, I took a few bites and my husband took a small bite and it was clearly a perfect round mince patty. I let the staff member know, she came back with my same hamburger and told me it might look like mince but it was actually a steak. If it looks, tastes and smells like mince, it doesn't make it a steak. The man beside me was waiting so long for his coffee, longer than for his food, the girl had forgotten to make it. Older women was slow and rather rude on the cash register. She didn't like our social distancing because I pulled a few tables together. On the other hand she got us to sign our name using one pen, anyone traveling through from Melbourne only has to use that pen and we are all infected. We are a group of friends who all live in a regional aeras, and none of us are sick or even from Victoria. It's an invasion of privacy to all share one page for all our names and phone numbers. Our group spent well over $500, it's not money this cafe will see again. Give it a skip, local pub is a cosier and more customer focused. Staff were all teenagers, other than one...

Went for a drive to Holbrook to have breakfast and see the submarine.

I had breakfast at the cafe. I had high hopes as the Google reviews were over 4 stars.

No table service but that's not uncommon.

I was surprised to see that the big breakfast was nearly $30. I would say it's a bit too expensive in that regard.

We didn't get any table water. I didn't ask for any but it was unusual for a sit down Cafe to not bring tap water out.

It took 20min for our coffees to come. However the breakfast meals come basically st the same time. What they should have done is brought out the coffee within 10min, then bring the meals out 10min later and offer another coffee if we had finished.

There are reviews on here that say you get a hearty breakfast. The Bacon and Eggs I received had 4 eye pieces of bacon but no tails. I ordered scrambled eggs too, but judging by the small portion I only got one scrambled egg.

Toast wasn't sourdough but that's not terribly important, I guess.

Overall I ate the meal and can't complain too much, but it does seem that this place is overpriced and the food isn't...

Thoroughly impressed with the "Submarine seafood platter" at this lovely cafe situated away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The platter boasted a generous assortment of oceanic delights, from plump and succulent prawns to tender and flavorful scallops, all crowned with a selection of high-quality fish that would make any seafood aficionado swoon.

What truly caught my palate by surprise, however, was the impeccable lightness of the batter coating each and every morsel of seafood. It was evident that the chef behind the platter had mastered the art of frying, achieving a crispy and golden exterior without overpowering the natural flavors and textures of the seafood within.

I must say, the quality of the seafood on the "Submarine seafood platter" is more commonly found in five-star hotels and upscale restaurants, making this humble cafe a hidden gem worth discovering. I highly recommend this dish to any seafood lover, or any diner looking to savor a delectable and memorable meal. Bravo to the talented chef who made my dining experience truly...
