Cafe Darya — Restaurant in Jindabyne

Our first time here today. If there were 10 stars I would have given them that. Eating their food is not dinner it’s an experience. Kerrie and Reza are running a seamless culinary delight. We ordered 5 vegetarian dishes + desserts and they served it one after another 3 entrees and two mains and it just got better and better. We are from Sydney and being a vegetarian we could never eat at any of the Persian restaurants because most don’t cater to vegetarian. Not just Persian but this is probably best food I have eaten in a long time. I am a pretty amazing cook myself and I know spices - tonight was my husband’s birthday and you made this it so memorable. 6pm. Mission: find dinner for this ravenous stomach of mine which hungers for something more than classic pub fare.

6:30pm I've just sat down in this small restaurant and the smells emanating from the kitchen are placing my nose into sensory overload. It smells so good!

6:55 have just finished the first course - a modest salad of yoghurt, capsicum and a mix of herbs and spices which tantalise the taste buds and leave me wanting more. I await the main course with breathless anticipation...

7:30 mission accomplished. Main course devoured. Stomach satiated. Taste buds continue to reminisce about the plethora of flavours which gave so recently...

This restaurant is simply amazing! The flavors are divine, dishes are presented beautifully, and the background music is great. This is a place not to miss in Jindabyne. It is small and gets booked out so book ahead of time! It is BYO. Anything we have tried on the menu has been fantastic. This time we had chicken stew ( khoresh-e-morgh) which was to die for, so flavorful! We also had the camel dish ( khoresh-e-shotor) which also was great. The dips and the sambosags are not to be missed! We are so impressed with this restaurant, and I am not usually that easily impressed. I just wish this restaurant was in Sydney so we could go...
