We’ve been to Jindabyne Emporium a number of times before, and only just realised we hadn’t left a review—time to fix that!
We stopped in for lunch on a quiet, cool, yet sunny autumn Friday. Arriving just after opening, we kicked things off with a BentSpoke Crankshaft IPA and a ginger beer to wet the lips.
Our Order: • Beef Burger – A solid, satisfying burger with everything you’d expect. Bonus points for pickles served on the side for those who discriminate—I’m not one of them, so I stuffed them right in. • Poutine – Not the best I’ve had, but still enjoyable. I was a bit critical of the seasoned chips, but the missus loved them. Later learned the curds were actually just cheese—still tasty. • Chilli Con Carne Tacos (x2) – On the smaller side but fairly priced. Ordered without sour cream, but unfortunately the pecorino cheese was also missing, which was a shame.
In past visits, we’ve also enjoyed the cheeseburger spring rolls, polenta fries, and other tasty options from the menu.
The Experience: • Service is always friendly and welcoming • Great location with a view east toward the lake • Vibrant atmosphere year-round • Excellent beer selection • Simple food, executed well
We’ll always come back for more—it’s a favourite stop in Jindabyne, no...
Read moreThis restaurant is a treasure in Jindabyne, and amazingly enough, even though I am a local of the area, unknown to me until now. A friend introduced me to the restaurant and I have been a few times now. Bobby, the owner, has a commitment to local produce and excellent quality food, focusing on tacos, hamburgers and small bites that are delicious. We had the chicken bites and calamari - sensational! The hamburgers and tacos are first-class and delicious. The restaurant is upstairs in the Old Town Centre, so it was hidden away from me until a friend took me. Bobby is a most extraordinary host. He is prepared to take time to explain his food philosophy, and he has very interesting local wines from across the other side of the Snowy Mountains and crafted beers. The Emporium doesn't try to be an up-market fine dining restaurant. However, it is something even better - a restaurant with simple and delicious food, prepared with care and delivered with outstanding service. I will be recommending The Emporium to all my friends. Rush here to have a meal before it is booked out. Upstairs, halfway along the Old...
Read moreWe had seen this new place when we visited back in January but didn’t get a chance to try it out. We visited this week and what a find! We tried to book but the number didn’t work, however the extremely lovely staff were able to find us a table as we weren’t staying long. They recommended trying the corn ribs as I am vegetarian and honestly one of THE best dishes I have tasted in ages. So much flavour and just to die for! I also tried the vege banana blossom tacos which were delicious too. Hubby had the Jindy chicken burger which he loved and the kids enjoyed the Mac cheese and beef burger. We didn’t have to wait long for the food to arrive which is always a bonus with kids. They have some really interesting and delicious cocktails and also a huge variety of tin craft beers. They were doing a special Bentspoke takeover of their taps, hubby was in heaven as that’s his favourite brewery. We can’t wait to visit again. Highly recommend booking as all the tables were reserved on a Friday night. Awesome service, delicious food and a great vibe. A great new...
