I really hate having to do this and I dont normally leave negative feedback but my experience on Saturday night at Spice Market Karrinyup was pretty bad. Had a big family dinner there. QR code for ordering at the table. You order then pay at the counter. Well so many of us were ordering and some hadn't finished ordering yet when the lady came up to me and shoved an eftpos machine into my face and said I had to pay the entire bill for the table at that time. She wouldnt even let us finish ordering. She said theres no split billing. So then I said can the rest of the table finish ordering then. She was insistant that I had to pay there and then. I paid the $315 for the first half of the table that had ordered so far. Then she comes up to me again 10 minutes later with the eftpos machine and tells me to pay again another $275 for the rest of the tables orders ( which were not mine. I had already finished ordering with the first payment). My brother then paid that amount and we had to work out who owed who what the next day. Every other restaurant I have been to where you order via the QR code at the table allows you to pay immediately online there and then. Other restaurants that don't have the QR code ordering system allow you to pay at the end and everyone transfers the money to one person to pay the bill or each person goes to the counter to order and pay straight away and you just give them your table number. The system Spice Market currently have with the QR order from the table doesn't work with big groups and the way the lady shoved the machine at me felt rude and intrusive. Now to the food. Pad Thai and Sukiyaki noodles were delicious. Chicken satay sticks were bland and cold. Garlic and chive dumplings were soggy and tasteless. Spring rolls were hard and just tasted like the cheap ones you get from the freezer section at Coles. The Pina Colada was $20 and very underwhelming. The fried icecream was nice but its the first time I've had it so cant really compare it to...

We recently visited for a special occasion with a large group of 20 people. The whole experience felt way more difficult than it needed to be, with policies that seemed rigid rather than customer-friendly.

First, no bookings were allowed, not even for a large group. We tried in advance but were told it was first come, first served. We would have been happy to pay a deposit. When we arrived, we were given a 30-40 minute wait time and told we should have come earlier—despite the fact that booking wasn’t even an option.

We did get our table well before the 40 minutes. Then came the no split bills policy, even though we ordered through a QR code from the table. If the system can track individual orders and direct food to the right person, why not allow payments the same way? Instead, the only option was to pay at the counter, which can create unnecessary hassle at the end of the meal.

What really left a bad impression was the payment timing. Just a few minutes into eating, a server approached and insisted I come inside to pay immediately. I said I’d be happy to do so after I finished my meal, but she insisted it had to be done now. She claimed it was policy that she had told me earlier, which simply wasn’t true. She left only to retun with an Eftpos machine, standing over me. To top it off, after I had paid nearly $800 for the group, I later saw my daughter being charged $0.73 for a takeaway box—a small detail, but one that really added insult to injury.

The food itself was ok, but by the end of the night, it hardly mattered. The rigid policies and unnecessary pressure around payment overshadowed the meal and made for an underwhelming experience. Many of these issues could be easily fixed with a little flexibility and a focus on customer experience—things that are standard practice elsewhere. I am sure you can do better...

FOOD POISONING at Spice Market Thai -Karringyup - 13-05-24 - DO NOT EAT AT ( SPICE MARKET THAI ) Karringyup Monday lunch time I don’t really write bad reviews but the experience I went through today was debilitating.

I experienced the worst kind of food poisoning, I’ve ever had , to the feeling I had collapsed after I left the restaurant after about 10 minutes .

I have eaten at the ( Spice Market Thai ) restaurant in Karringyup many times .

Today it was a Monday lunch , I thought I’d try something different. I put my order with the waitress and I did notice the order came out in minutes like they had it already been cooked . I thought it was Way too quick for it to come out like it did . Very unusual, to cook it that quickly. I had seafood ( Mixed Herb Scallops) x 3 Plus I ordered ( Satay Chicken sticks ) . Well my sickness from the food put me in so much pain. I had severe Diarrhoea, with in minutes after leaving the restaurant. I’m writing this review from my bed tonight , still quite ill. I tried calling them . No Answer. Funny thing is I went back onto their site tonight to see their menu and the Scallops dish was removed that’s too coincidentally that it was not on their menu . Why !!! . I’m writing this to warn others . I’m a Thai food fan for many years . Not any more . See the photos of the Menu that I ordered from today at lunch Then see the photo of it not on the Menu tonight . Extremely sad that I experienced such an illness that could have been avoided if the food was fresh .some reason I can’t add the photos but I have them...

We first visited Spice Market for a group gathering around Christmas time. We loved it so much we've been back twice more! (Pics from all 3 visits)! Firstly the atmosphere is awesome! Sitting outside on a balmy evening is beautiful. Kids look super happy, families, couples, groups... everyone of every demographic welcome. Love the eclectic decore and layout which is just so interesting and intriguing. It's very popular and they don't take bookings (only downfall) so be sure to get in early or be prepared to line up. (However when we did have to wait in line, it moved very quickly and staff managed seating allocating very promptly. The menu is extensive and has an excellent variety of catering for all (amazing selection on offer for vegans and vegetarians...far more than just the boring, usual minimal options). Every morsel is packed with authentic fresh Thai flavours and aromas. The novelty of the delivery robots is quite entertaining and actually works well. My choices packed a punch with some heat but still allowed flavours to sing. Cocktails are delicious and gorgeous to look at! Lots of authentic Thai desserts available. Serving sizes are very generous and plentiful. Quality is exceptional and all in all take me back any day! Prices match quality and are worthwhile. A big win!

Got hyped into this place because someone said it's got a robot server yes this true but only one of them so, peak lunch or dinner the waitress staff will just deliver. The robot thing is purely a gimmick. I ordered the Massaman beef curry they claim it's 6hrs slow cooked but I highly doubt that the beef was tough to pull apart with a spoon and fork. Man I needed a knife, the curry wasn't that hot tbh more like an introduction to Thai food kinda place but with its own fusion spin on it to appeal to customers who have never been to Thailand and want to experience the dishes. Tbh we have tried many Thai places in Perth and the best one by far is Nakorn Thai in Osborne Park main street. But any ways back to my review. The venue is massive yet the tables are small and there isn't much privacy between tables in the inner section. On Sundays they charge an additional 10% surcharge, basically 20% GST on Sunday what for I got no idea. Overall the place isn't authentic and that's what you want when going to a Thai restaurant. Nakorn Thai is better by a lot like twice as good and at better prices. Also good parking. I give this place 3 outta 5 stars. Won't be back sorry

The Fried Barramundi was out of this world, loved the taste was quite authentic! Fish and meat are excellent quality, and the beef Pad Thai was great, tender, and full of flavour. Definitely returning for the food. One recommendation though- if a side of side of rice or salad could be provided as part of the Fish, it would make a complete meal! That said, the Pineapple Fried Rice was a little disappointing in terms of portion size. The half-carved pineapple didn’t provide much space. Only found one small piece of pineapple and two shrimps in the entire dish. While it looked appealing in its presentation, however wasn’t a good value for money. Service could benefit from some improvement. One order was forgotten, and we waited 25 minutes for the last Main until we reminded another staff. Once we mentioned we were late for our movie, it arrived within 5 minutes. The restaurant food is moderately priced, given its location and ambiance. Over all tasty food and amazing atmosphere – with better service, this place would be outstanding!
