My 2 sons one of their girlfriends and I went here last Sunday after their football game . We ordered food and beverages online at the table . The bar wasn't busy yet we waited over 15min for our drinks . Now here's the kicker ... a young bar girl with blonde hair eventually delivered our drinks . Checked my 21 year old sons ID ,his girlfriends and my oldest son 26 only had a picture of his driver's licence on his phone again he and his brother had just finished a football game over the Rd the photo ID (drivers licence) was not acceptable ( her opinion) yet this young lady made want I would have to state is a contradiction for if you doubted his age if you doubted hus wa driver's licence then she in her opinion served a minor and then stated I can only let you have this one as your ID is only a picture of a driver's license and not the actual. WHO TRAINED THIS GIRL . Before you ask my back ground is with Scottish and Newcastle brewery , I trained Managers and Licencees on responsible service, Liquor act , legal rights of a publican basically you didn't get to hold a publican licence for the brewery till I said you could and over here I face this, it gets better ... we didn't argue just politely said ok , she goes back to the bar gathers 3 other bar staff a proceeds to point us out like criminals ( really ) Anyways after 20mins from ordering the food arrives out my oldest son gets his , then 15mins mins another 2 meals arrive ( remember we ordered at the same time and similar meals ) then 20 mins further just as everyone is about done eating out comes my food ... Really this is what happens. Here's my thoughts
The manager must have the final say if a picture of a WA license is sufficient proof of age ESPECIALLY in a world going cardless seen as its his job to not only protect his employers license and Revenue Does the kitchen not inform the bar staff if there is delays on orders And no apologies from the staff for the delays Clearly the priority here is to put up barriers to prevent the customers having a good...
Read moreVery disappointed. Was very excited to come here for my friends 18th birthday dinner, but were turned down as not all of us are 18, (the rest of us are 17). We made a reservation the week before and there was nothing about being 18 or having to have a parent or guardian with us, even when my friend got a confirmation about the booking there was nothing on there about this information. Multiple of us have already been there with friends underage and were served. In wa even in a licensed restaurant under 18s are allowed to be served food without a parent or guardian. When we were first approached by security he came up to us very rudely and was very intimidating, then proceeded to scoff at our underage ids. As it is a Friday night we are now scrambling and struggling to find somewhere nice to eat for dinner as a decent sized group. My friend who’s birthday it was her Nan then proceeded to call this place multiple times and there phone lines were off. After being kicked out my friends proceeded to go to security and ask to speak to the manager again to check that we will not be getting a $60 no show up fee, and he rudely spat back “you have already spoken to the manager”.
Thanks but no...
Read moreFirst day jitters, yep. Eftopos machines were down so they were only accepting cash, it would have been nice to know before spending 10 minutes waiting for drinks. We would have gone elsewhere. Staff are very new, I'm fairly sure they've never worked in a pub before, this would usually not be an issue, except today it was. We had a few problems and were met with "I don't know, I can't help"
After nearly walking out our food arrived, vegetarian arancini and vegetarian pizza, they were OK, not amazing, good for pub food.
Drink selection is usual 3 pound group vibe with a small selection of decent WA produced beer (discarding Bevy) , the rest are generic beer for generic folks that don't care where their food or alcohol is made. (harsh call, but fair)
I will be back, but probably for drinks only.
Edit- I came back to see if my original review was harsh..... It's not. This place is relying heavily on the shopping centre for its clientele. Beers are still too generic, atmosphere needs improving. Bogan music, which is OK in a bogan pub, but this isn't a bogan pub. I come for one beer,...
