To say I was disappointed with my experience would be an understatement. The bruschetta had mushy old tomatoes on it on top of soggy bread. The $33 pasta tasted like packet pasta mixed with tomato paste. The wine tasted watered down. I'm sad to say that nothing, absolutely nothing, about this place was worth coming back to and I will be spending my hard earned money elsewhere. And by the way, it is deeply disappointing and saddening to read the comments of the owners absolutely attacking its customers instead of taking responsibility and accountability for its mistakes. Our server asked us how come we couldn't finish our meals and yes we lied and said we had a late lunch. We're allowed. We were holidays to escape and we didn't wanna think about confronting people and telling them that their restaurant is horrible. We had a lovely server and we didn't wanna ruin her day, because it's not her...
Read moreYesterday I visited this place for breakfast and ordered scrambled eggs on toast with relish. How could this simple order possibly go wrong? Well, it did. Making delicious scrambled eggs is lesson one for a chef and one of the key elements in the cooking process would surely be to whisk the eggs properly. Half of the plate was filled with toasted turkish bread, a quarter was a ramekin with “relish” and the other quarter was a tiny dollop of unappetising, unscrambled egg (I was assured they’d used two eggs but if they had, they must have been laid by pigeons) where you could easily see the separate pieces of egg white and yolk. It was dry, unwhisked, miniscule and completely unappealing. The relish looked and tasted like it was taken straight from a tin of tomato purée. What a disappointing and unpleasant culinary experience this was Come on guys, you can do...
Read moreStrange place. Food was nice, if a bit small. Coffee good. But after eating we wanted another coffee and the guy working there wasn't interested. Completely ignored me when I went to order and just kept talking to a customer. Obviously too cool to be bothered making money.
Following on from the response. The uber cool hipster barista could have been polite enough to say " Someone will be with you in a moment". Basic hospitality courtesy. I just felt invisible. I admit that the proprietor's husband immediately attended and got coffee when I told him about it. He was great and couldn't have been more helpful. Maybe someone "would of" (English is actually "would have") attended to me but I dislike being blatantly and rudely ignored. I will return, but not when that idiot with a bad haircut is working there. I know it is hard to get hospitality staff but...
