I rarely post anything that's detrimental to a business, including fast food out lets such as Macca's, KFC's ect as they're mostly pretty good. However the experience I had here today was most disappointing and I won't be using this maccas again. I walked in so I can't talk about the drive through service. It is usually very good. I ordered 1 large latte with 4 sugars (my usual order at any maccas. Eventually when I was served I was quoted my order number instead of being given a receipt with the number on it. It was 174 so I didn't mind as it was easy to remember. But for people with memory difficulties or like many of us simply forget, it's an issue and asking for trouble. After 5 minites I looked at the order screen and it showed as ready. Naturally I went to the pick up area bit I was behing 3 very disgruntled customers all with wrong orders. One couple had waited half an hour for their order and it hadn't even been make. Once they cleared the 3 people ahead not one staff member went near the pick up counter nor could I establish eye contact with staff. They where clearly avoiding eye contact. I spoke up at a young chap and he gave me a glare and turned his back on me. Once I eventually got the staffs attention 15 mins latter my latte wasn't even made let alone ready for collection as the screen said. After 15 of trying to get eyes contact I called out to a staff member and got her attention. She made my latte but she was in a hurry, flustered and for the first time I couldn't drink a macca's latte and tipped it out. I won't buy macca's again in-store at this Maccas. Its to hit and miss getting a decent latte at this Macca's these days. The staff all looked like they where very flustered and miserable. I understand they don't want to be there but they are payed to do so and it can't hurt to smile. It will make their mistakes less stressful and easier to understand. This can't really be blamed on staff or even the managers. The blame is firmly on the owners and Macca's themselves. In trying to streamline payments or more to point greed by using less service staff for customer service they have made in-store purchasing complicated. The payment area is a joke with only 1 till. They're trying to encourage ordering on self service screens and or through an app. I watched a staff member try and work it out at the payment counter and he struggled to work it out, causing a long line. I also seen a elderly gentleman give the manager a serve about the food bagging area being cross contaminated. I cant say much about that because I didn't notice. I did noticed every single customer instore where unhappy because of poor the service. I can't in all honesty give this Maccas more than 2 stars. I'd give less but the drive through is usually...
Read moreWe stopped by this McDonaldâs on the way home from the Geelong Ice Adventure, thinking it would be a quick and convenient dinner option before a long drive. We ordered three Happy Meals (which arrived fairly quickly), a cheese toastie, a coffee, an iced coffee, a Double Big Mac meal, and a pack of nuggets.
Unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired.
Firstly, the dining area was messy and clearly hadnât been cleaned for a while. I understand fast food can be hectic â Iâve worked in it myself â but even when itâs not busy (which it wasnât), basic cleanliness shouldnât be overlooked.
The bigger issue was the delay and inconsistency with the rest of our order. While the Happy Meals came out fast, we waited far too long for everything else â the coffees, toastie, burger, and nuggets. When we followed up, we were told the remaining items had to be prepared at the McCafĂ©, which is fine, but clearer communication wouldâve helped.
When the toastie finally arrived, it was so overheated that one side of the bread was inedible. Even one of the kids tried biting into it and immediately complained it was too hot on their teeth. Ironically, the rest of the food â including the burger and nuggets â was cold and just tasted off.
Iâm not expecting gourmet at McDonaldâs, but consistency, cleanliness, and reasonable wait times should be a given. In hindsight, I regret ignoring the reviews â I figured a 3-star rating for a Maccaâs didnât mean much, but this time it was telling.
Wouldnât go back, especially at night. If you're in the area and looking for a late bite, Iâd suggest choosing...
Read moreDropping my previous eating down to 2 stars. Despite signs in the wall boasting how they frequently clean and wipe down surfaces to protect against the current covid outbreak this is far from the truth. During the 50 minutes we were there eating in there were four quite grotty tables surrounding us not in use by any other customers at that time. All the tables had quite visible food scraps and spilt drinks on them. One staff member did come to the tables and remove some empty drink cups but ignored the other mess on them. The floors surrounding the tables also showed a fair amount of food scraps and drinks spilt on them. In the play area you could see that none of the surfaces had been cleaned for some time. Greasy dirty hand prints were ingrained into areas frequently touched by children These weren't new stains that had "just happened today" . Piles of dirt and grit on fl play equipment foot surfaces that had obviously built up over time. Window and door glass all in need of a good window cleaner to give them a good once over. Oh, and the fries were enaemic and undercooked. On a positive note the Apple pie was good but that was the only redeeming feature of today's visit. Hopefully on my next visit it'll be cleaner and I'll...
