Ollie's cafe bar — Restaurant in Leopold

Was hoping for good things from this cafe and bar as the whole shopping centre is relatively new. Noticed a chalk board out the front which read, "Free Beer, Free WI FI". Asked about the free beer and was told it was a joke, to make you take notice of the free WI FI sign, haha, not funny or amusing. Ambience? Polished concrete floors, no atmosphere and very noisy. Ideal for eves dropping on neighbouring tables. The meals, my friend ordered the bruschetta, which she assured me was lovely. I opted for the seafood fettuccini. Just love seafood and pasta. Fettuccini was very disappointing and light on for seafood. Three muscles in the shell and two scallops and about 3 octopus tentacles 3mm dia x 25mm long. No prawns, no fish, no other seafood. For around $22, I expected better. Dressing appeared to be made of oil and butter, with no herbs and only tasted buttery.

The was no pepper any of the tables and we had to search out staff to obtain a pepper mill. There were also no paper napkins on our table, but, we managed to source some out from an unoccupied table. Very disappointed and will not be revisiting again,until I hear things...

Whilst we do enjoy the good coffee served at this establishment, the service or lack of spoils the experience.

We average 4 or 5 visits a week but sadly there seems a big lack of enthusiasm amongst the ever changing staff. Basic training in common courtesy and more importantly a pretend snails would go a long way to lighten up the atmosphere and make one feel welcome. Particular mention goes to the manager and her assistant who seem more interested in gossiping and bitching about anything and everything and unfortunately thin earshot of most customers.

Obviously not a happy place! Definitely not happy staff.

Horrible service! Ordered food and drinks for two people then had to wait and watch the servers eating and chatting away behind the counter whilst waiting far too long. Then first meal was bought out - still no drinks to have with meal. By the time the first persons meal was eaten the second meal came out - still no drinks!!! The club sandwich had hard over cooked toast and was missing sauce, when asked waitress for the sauce she wanted us to pay - again!!!! Then half way through eating (whilst the other person had already finished long ago) our fresh juice arrived! Finally!!!!! Wasted money and wasted time -...
