Grill Shack — Restaurant in Lismore

Looking for something good to eat in Lismore on a Sunday afternoon is not an easy thing. There seemed to be only three places accessible when out traveling with a pet. We decided to eat here. I asked another customer who was waiting if he'd eaten here before and he praised the food and said that it's the only place open. (It wasn't but we didn't want the other food.) He was correct in his praise. We ordered a chicken burger, a cattleman burger and small chips. And a single meat pattie for the furbaby. We then took the food down the road to a park where we wandered around looking for the right place to eat. When we finally started our meal it was Delicious! It was also suitably hot enough. My family have owned very successful takeaway and restaurant businesses and this is a business should thrive even of they only serve these burgers and chips! The staff were absolutely fine and polite and the food took ten minutes. I timed it as we took the dog for a walk. I also timed it because freshly cooked burgers take time. 12 months ago I ordered approx $70 worth of food and when I returned home with it I found food was missing from the order. I called up and they said that they would put it in the "Book" for next time I was there. Next time I went they said that they had lost the "Book" and would not honor a credit, so I chose to shop elsewhere. After the recent floods I thought I would give them another go to support local businesses as I had seen them closed due to the flooding, but back up again. I phone ordered approx $70 worth of food, business was very brisk with around 30 people inside and out waiting for food. The burgers were ready but had to wait a further 15 minutes for chips etc. When I got home, again food was missing from the order and the burgers were stone cold. I tried to call (6 times) but could not get through, I considered driving back but as the shop was so full it would have taken a further 40 minutes before I had the missing food supplied. I love supporting local businesses, but this is one i will not be supporting, the service was so low and terrible cashier gave me serious attitude for no reason then i had to wait 30 minutes for my food, and by the time i had gotten it, it was cold I genuinely wanted to give this business a chance but it seems to be a reoccurring thing, the stone cold burger was honestly not the 30 minute wait. Workers seem to be more engaged in conversation than actual work, not a place i will be eating again and i hope the owner is aware of the poor quality.
