Party of 6 for lunch. Nice open and airy front bar eating area that's been renovated tastefully. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. We were offered the choice of the front area or the dining room. The 'dining' room is a room between the bar and the kitchen. It's more like a thoroughfare to another part of the pub but is certainly not a dining room you'd choose to eat in. No windows, little decor with tables shoved against the wall. Front area it was. Good selection of beers on tap. Coke was almost flat. Ordered our food from the adequate menu and were given a buzzer to collect our food when ready. In a reasonably short period of time our food was brought to the table. Obviously as we were the only diners they knew where to bring it. Chicken parmi was one of the best ever eaten. Not too large which was appreciated. The rib fillet steak that was ordered 'blue' was gray all the way through and faint char lines. It was moist and tender but the cooking method unusual. Not a lot else with it to justify its price. The jewfish and chips was disappointing as the chips were only warm and a bit sad and though the fish was cooked perfectly inside the thick beer batter, some of the batter wasn't cooked and quite gluggy. The beef burger was more like a rissole on a bun and the few chips were sad. Chicken schnitty burger was OK. The 3 star was for the chicken parmigiana and the staff. The rest of the meal a 2. Would I go back,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFriendly bar staff that know how to hold a glass at the bottom. Thank you. Waited a while to order at the kitchen area and the Chefs had time to tell us that someone would not be too long to take our orders, but they could have stepped up and taken our orders in the time it took them to tell us that and keep us waiting. When other staff returned to take our orders they were friendly and obviously being stretched between areas. Had the Chicken Schnitzel - Packet gravy which is way too salty and salad has too much onion. Bean burger was salty seeing I had a bunless burger, may be ok with a bun. The onion jam served with the meal tasted like it was cooked on a grill not that nice to...

Apparently covering your face with a scarf, instead of a "proper mask", just isn't enough to get past the aggro guy who was at the front last night. I pointed out that people were inside without masks, and that I would wear my scarf until I was seated with a drink, as they were. At that point he rudely said that was irrelevant. When I said I'd take my money elsewhere, and would speak to the manager about it later, he said 'the manager's inside if you want to speak to them'. I said, 'that would be a little difficult, as you said I...
