We were passing through from Victoria and stopped in for a meal solely on the basis that your website states you are wheelchair friendly. Well this is not true! Tried to gain access where we were directed to. The ground is uneven and bumpy and my partner nearly toppled out of his chair. We went to the entrance and there is a car parked and blocking the way. The ramp is so steep that you cannot manage it on your own. The wheelchair lift does not work. One of the patrons said it hasn't worked for a couple of years. Yes, I know you had a flood but this is not acceptable. This should be working. You are a lawsuit waiting to happen. You cannot tell me we are the only people who have issue with this. We asked a staff member for assistance but they just walked away. A customer ended up helping us to gain access. I really don't know why at this stage we continued. Then to top it off there is no door on the toilet stall in the men's room which my partner found embarrassing when he tried to go to the toilet. No dignity! Discrimination against the disabled at its finest. Not to mention the elderly and frail. I will be looking into this further. Would love to receive a response to...
Read moreI have decided to give this hotel 5 stars. Why? It brings to it's patrons a real feel of good old fashioned country style pub life. This place has the character of the bush and Australia as it was in the early days. It feels like you've escaped your own world and gone back in time the minute you walk through the doors. As I don't mind the odd flutter on the pokies, the games room, although not big, has great machines and cosy atmosphere. What impressed me the most was the smiles on the staff as they asked players if they needed a soft drink or coffee. NO CHARGE/FREE. Then they were back offering nibbles! With extra friendly service, great little nooks and delicious food this pub makes for a 5 star venue. The five stars don't mean classy here, they mean comfortable, friendly and happy with music, dancing and cheer. Whilst all this is offered, there is still a strict security level to ensure a safe and popular venue for...
Read moreAh Mary G's, where life long friends are made in the smoking area and instantly forgotten about. Reliable food, the beer has alcohol in it, pool tables, massive TV, bands on a stage, not much more to ask for.
The only reason I give 4 and not 5 stars is: the Chicken Wings. Any place any where I see has some Wing variant on the menu I must try it. You can tell a lot of things about a venue by the state of their Wings. I have tried Mary G's Buffalo wings 4 times. I tried to love them. Lord knows how I did try. But each time they are simply too dry, like they were cooked days ago, fridged, and heated up again by being sat on. Please Mary G's, I beg of you, strengthen your Wing game and i'll add the 5th Star.
However I will continue to buy the Wings until I find satisfaction. I will not go defeated into...
