Indian Mumtaj Restaurant — Restaurant in Lismore

Worst dining experience ever !! Never seen such an attitude by a Waitress (she looked like the owner) towards customers. This particular night we were visiting Lismore and went to this place at about 9 PM. We were a group of 8 adults and 4 kids. We entered the restaurant and asked if they had seats for 12 they asked us to wait. We waited amidst the dirty tables. They took about 30 minutes to get us seated and they eventually took our orders after another 15 minutes. When we all were seated one of our friend found a wet plate so she wanted to wipe it with an available tissue rather than bothering them to have it cleaned. The lady attending us happened to see it being wiped. Then the drama started. She asked what's the problem and swapped it with a new plate. She then started banging plates on the table. The noises so loud that everyone dining turned towards our table.There was a bit of argument but she never stopped... That never stopped. We did not want to eat with a service of that attitude.... Our holiday night was ruined. You can imagine what happened when a waitress serving starts pouring her anger over the customers banging and shouting.. She...

We bought three dishes of takeaway, rice, naan bread and pakoras. The pakoras and naan were nice. We rarely treat ourselves to takeaway so we were pretty excited initially, only to feel totally disappointed on opening the containers at home to find they were predominantly sauce and hardly any meat. Feeling really ripped off to be paying $18.95 for sauce and a couple of bits of meat.

Also my husband mentioned we had a fair drive home, the containers weren't wrapped and leaked oil out of the bag and onto our car seat which we had to clean up on arriving home.

The flavour of the meals was also a bit disappointing. We could have done better ourselves. We're good cooks who just wanted a night off 😞.

I am a repeat customer of their deliveries, I think I've only actually been into the store once.

I'm a big fan of their vindaloo, and their naan bread is always a treat. The delivery staff is always friendly and courteous. Delivery times will either be very fast or very slow compared with the estimates received in texts, which is unfortunate.

The online delivery service is nice, personally I always get flustered trying to order things over the phone, this system is perfect because you can take your time and get it right. All food delivery businesses...
