Three of us went there and we were all unimpressed and will not return. We ordered 2 teas, 1 coffee, 2 cakes and donuts. Service was poorly coordinated. The 2 cakes came then 5 mins later the donuts, another 5mins the teas and another 5mins for the coffee. There was insufficient staffing. Foods not labeled as to what it is, whether it contains food allergens etc and not priced. One poor lady serving tables by herself. Running about everywhere. The two supposed staff behind the counter weren't working half as hard. They seemed only interested in taking the money and the order. Not to mention there's a girl with long hair not covered working behind the counter with food. Fortunately didn't get hair in our food but for heavens sake cover your hair when your working with food for other people. Quick to take the money but not to provide service they take their time. Pricing would have been acceptable IF service had been good. Oh and its not first come first served, people who came after us were served before us. Normally you order a coffee/tea for example they ask how you like it and thats how it comes, not at cafe haven its made how they think then you have to ask for milk and ask for sugar etc. Tables appeared to be clean however space around tables is poor for the elderly or disabled. On a cool winter morning not an ideal location to visit, as it is very cold and draughty. No barrier to the elements. I appreciate the effort of the one lady who did her best to serve the customers but cannot recommend on the basis of 1 nice staff member. Overall very poor experience and do...
Read moreOrdered breakfast requesting uncaramelized mushroom (as stated in the menu the mushroom is caramelized) ending up serving with RAW mushrooms. Told the staff, the staff took the whole plate of breakfast away for 5 mins and serve again with still half of the mushroom UNCOOKED plus other food was cold already.
Added $4 for meat sausages - taste salty and poor quality meat. The poor sausages were charred, looked like they had gone through a fourth degree burn.
The hash brown must just had a salt bath or jumped into a pile of salt for a swim. One bite was tasteless and another bite was extremely salty. Was like the scene in the Squid Game of glass stepping stones - 1/2 chance of tasteless, 1/2 chance of extreme saltiness. Highly recommend if you want to try an experiment of how it taste like when too much salt activates the cells that sense bitterness.
To embellish the whole dish, charred flakes was added everywhere throughout the dish which can imagine a fair bit of effort was put in cleaning the frying pan in between.
Service was good with slow serving of food, misunderstanding client’s order and...
Read moreI stumbled into this relaxing cafe by chance, because it was near another stop I was making and happened to be open on the Easter Monday. But I couldn't be happier with the food, the peaceful atmosphere and especially the lovely people running the cafe.
Emily made a recommendation for a very filling meal (King's Breakfast - I hadn't eaten brekkie or dinner the night before so I was hungry, and this left me completely full 😂 I'll have to waddle home LOL). The sujuk was amazing, poached eggs cooked perfectly, most flavourful turkey bacon I've had anywhere, rich hollandaise, great sausages and the other sides were all super yum. *Very nice coffee with a creamy foam on top too 😊 She also told me about the blueberry scones with blueberry jam she makes that are popular, so I'm excited to come back to try those soon. I'll happily pop into Cafe Haven anytime I'm in the area and looking for some good food and a welcoming place to eat.
10/10 I'd recommend this place, wholesome food and...
