Gathering Spot Cafe — Restaurant in Logan City

I was getting some work done on my car at MyCar Rochedale and the manager told me it was going to take about 1.5 hours. He suggested I try the Rochedale Shopping Village up the road for a coffee while I was waiting.

The Gathering Spot Café was my choice. You could see that this must be a local gathering spot and a very popular one with the amount of foot traffic that was wandering in and out. There were also large groups that were seated in the outdoor settings, all talking and discussing today's events while enjoying the various food options that they had ordered.

I ordered Carrot cake that came with a generous helping of whipped cream to go with the coffee. My order was ready to go in a matter of minutes, served with a smile, the coffee and cake absolutely delicious. The Gathering Spot Café has a very extensive all day menu with gluten free options available. There is plenty of parking in the shopping centre car park with a Super Market, Hairdresser, Bakery, Newsagent, Fitness Club, Toilets and other speciality...

Unfortunately I was very disappointed in my dining experience at the Gathering Point Cafe. We were a large group ordering lunch and I ordered the rib fillet with a runny cheese and sides. I had ordered the steak medium rare, but it arrived tasting like it had been broiled and I only ate one bite and put it aside as it didn't taste at all good. One of the others had the pulled pork roll and said they would swap with me as they thought mine couldn't be that bad. They soon found out that the rib fillet was too unpleasant to eat and discarded it. The pulled pork roll unfortunately was little better. There was only a couple of spoonfuls of meat on a breadroll which was so tough it was actually inedible. I took 9 of us to The Gathering Spot. They all kept saying "Put this on thr return list!" "Can we come back?" The service was amazing! We were the forth lage table there and our food started coming out 5mins after we sat down. I had the Huli huli chicken toasted sandwich with cheese and a Pineapple jam that really made it. I skipped the Asian slaw but I reckon that woukd add a delightful lightness to it. Someone had salmon with 2 eggs Benedict- huge! Mine with a medium coffee $16.95! Just how do they do it? The people are wonderful, rushing out to make sure everyone had whatever they needed and coming back making sure everything was just right. No complaints from us!
