Jimboomba Tavern — Restaurant in Logan City

Went for dinner on Sunday night for my friends Birthday and this is the second time Iv been disappointed with the food at the tavern. We got a Bruschetta, deep fried Camembert and the guiness pie with mash and onion rings. The Bruschetta was overpriced for what we got and awful didnt even look nice on the plate or what the picture looked like. My partner took it back to complain and the lady on the till just offered to put more tomato on and gave it back to her. No refund no replacement nothing. The deep fried Camembert was cold. The pie was alright but the onion rings on top were hard and chewy. I also ordered cocktails from the bar and I understand it was busy but when I get told to order off the app in a rude tone it's not nice. Again I understand it was busy but considering my phone was not working properly either maybe it should be taken into consideration that not a lot of people use phones and would rather talk to a person instead of staring at a screen. I've had two really fantastic experiences here so we decided to make this place our regular and previously 5 stars.

Tonight though I was shocked I'm assuming they must have been understaffed which can be frustrating but there was virtually no service. We got our side quite quickly, which was nice but no cocktail jug. Our main meals then came and were quite literally slammed down in front of us and before I could ask about our jug the waitress stormed off. Again I know they must have been understaffed but that's not fair to your customers. About 15 minutes into our meal the jug comes which had obviously been made well over 20 minutes ago as the ice had completely melted.

I have really bad social anxiety so I really despise sending stuff back or asking for stuff to remade.

Watered down cocktail was not tasteful.

My wagyu beef brisket was drowned in so much sauce I couldn't even taste the wagyu which is a shame.

My wife's lamb shank was amazing though so I won't knock it.

Overall service was just rushed/rude.

Online ordering needs an overhaul.

Online payment failed to go through after watching what appeared to be a successful payment. There needs to be a warning on the webpage or tables to check you received a confirmation email for each order. Staff advised this has happened before.

Food from another table was received and after eating a couple chips was identified as wrong. Plate was returned to staff who then tried to bring it back again. We were told it was ordered under the name “old fella”. Eventually the plate was given to the correct customer (minus the chips that were eaten as this wasn’t checked) after being left at our table for about 2-3 minutes when who knows what could have happened to it.

Staff were obviously confused by the system as we almost received another table’s order too.
