Dear Kickinin Team, I’m writing to share some feedback about my recent experience at your restaurant on May 6th, 2025, which was for my birthday. I had been looking forward to dining with you for quite some time, especially after hearing glowing reviews from several friends when you first opened. Unfortunately, my experience did not live up to those expectations, and I left feeling quite disappointed.
When we arrived, one of your staff members was drinking directly from the tap behind the counter, then turned around with their finger in their mouth. This struck me as extremely unhygienic, and I strongly considered leaving at that point. However, my husband encouraged me to stay. We ordered the $179 garlic butter seafood bag. While the seafood itself was of good quality, the table preparation and flavor left much to be desired. Our table had no cutlery or eating tools, and only two serviettes. We had to ask for something to discard the shells, which should be a basic part of service for a seafood boil. What disappointed me the most was the garlic butter sauce. ( As advertised) It didn’t taste like butter at all – more like garlic oil or margarine. When we took the leftovers home, the sauce did not solidify as butter normally would, which confirmed my suspicions. The garlic butter was the main reason I chose to dine with you, so this was particularly disheartening. When I mentioned this on our way out, the staff member at the counter seemed uninterested, which added to my frustration. Lastly, I would suggest closing the window between the dining area and the kitchen. From where we were seated, it was quite clear that the kitchen staff did not appear happy or engaged, which affected the overall atmosphere. I don’t usually write reviews or complaints, but given the high cost of the meal and the anticipation I had built up, I felt compelled to let you know. We will never be back and will definately.not be recommending to our friends. Since discussing the situation with other people we have been informed that it used to be very good when it first opened. Now it is very ordinary and not worth the money. Super disappointing.
Thanks for your response. Unfortunately we never be back. I am not prepared to spend that amount of money again to potentially get more of the same oily substance you...
Read moreThis place was an unexpected find in Logan Central. Located at Logan Central Plaza on the outside of the shopping centre, this hidden gem was a hit with the whole family.
The restaurant was clean and bright but lacked a bit of atmosphere, but that wasn't the reason we came here. The fresh cooked seafood was what we were hunting, and Kickin Inn did not disappoint. We had made a booking for 5pm and had a nice large table ready and waiting. The staff were very friendly and attentive, coming back to our table a couple of times to check that we had everything we needed.
We ordered mozzarella sticks for the entree, which were nice and cheesy and came with a delicious tomato salsa. We followed this with a Kickin Inn mixed bag, with Prawns, pipi's, mussels, crabs, and potatoes in an amazing Cajun sauce. You can add extras in the bag, such as corn, chorizo sausage, and much more. You can also pick other sauces and your spice level.
After putting on the supplied bib's and gloves, it was time for the main event. The mixed bag was brought out to the table with a bit of fan fare and poured directly onto the paper table cloth. With so much delicious sauce, be careful that it doesn't run off onto your lap.
The seafood was delicious!!! Cooked to perfection and was more than enough to feed our family of 5. The one little miss was they forgot to add in the Chorizo sausage I ordered. I would highly recommend getting a few serves of the fresh baguettes on the side to mop up all the amazing sauce.
This is not the cheapest family dinner out. That being said, there are heaps of other cheaper options without going for the seafood bag. For the amount of seafood you get, the unique cooking style and dining experience, in my opinion, Kickin Inn is good value for money and a whole lot of fun.
Overall, I love this place, and I'm already craving that Cajun sauce. So, if you're looking for a fun and engaging dining experience, you need to come...
Read moreWe made our booking Wednesday night online to have lunch here for Father's Day on the Sunday coming up. Email confirmation for the booking advised they will hold our table for 15mins past the booking time. This was sadly not the case. Upon arriving within the 15mins we were asked to wait outside for quite sometime while they made up a plastic foldable table and shoved us into the corner. It was extremely difficult to get any service in this spot. No one was around and we were being ignored. Once we got the food, it was all placed on the end of the plastic foldable table which was UNFORTUNATELY NOT LOCKED IN UNDERNEATH. That side of the table then collapsed on my friend's leg and all the food and drinks fell to floor and splashed all over the other dining customers who's table was right beside us. This was the only time wait staff hurried to our corner just standing there looking at what happened. The table was put back up only to collapse and 2nd time and again on my friend's leg. When lifting the table to put away it was found that it was not even locked in!!!!! Rushed and set up poorly causing a waste of food, drinks and completely killed the excitement we felt leading up to this. We were placed at another table but man the service was still so poor!! We had to wait a while AGAIN for the food to arrive. Management settled our bill with a reasonable discount but as we agreed, it wasn't about the money it's about safety. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else!!! It might help to get more staff and not overbook seating or just triple check the table is...
