My first day in Cairns I decided to take a walk along the road to the local shopping centre. I walked past the food places and Cafe63 seemed like a good idea, lots of happy people eating and drinking, so I gave it a go. I sat down and looked at the menu, which was cute, made out to look like a newspaper, I decided what I wanted and kept smiling at the waitress to get her attention, but was ignored, I even looked around to see if I needed to go up to the counter to order? But no, after 25 minutes she eventually came over. I fancied bacon, egg and chips, but had to order the chips as a side, I also had a breakfast tea and a bottle of water to take away. The waitress made it an effort to understand me and what I was trying to order? Which was strange as 10 minutes later she was talking perfect English to me? The tea was served in a cup with the smallest handle Iâd ever seen and when I asked for a mug like everyone else was drinking from, that was an effort too? I even explained my difficulty in picking the cup up, showing her my stump of a finger. It took her until Iâd finished my meal to bring me the mug!đđđ€Ș When the meal came, she put it down on the opposite side of the table leaving me to reach across to retrieve it? The food was not great, the eggs were raw and I think the toast had just been threatened with the heat as it was still just bread, and the bacon steak was like trying to eat a tyre! I did get a flask of water at the table and I really donât think the waitress intended to offend me, I just donât think she wanted to be there! Everyone else (locals) seemed really content with the food and the service, so it was probably just an over expectation from me that the food and service should and could have been better. Itâs a nice clean, friendly and happy place to visit, but I wonât...
Read moreA very bright and airy, modern and clean venue. Staff are friendly and service is very good. The food is pretty good. Prices are average. I like how you have the option to easily design your own meal because of the way they have designed the menu. Not something you see very often and it enables you to pick and choose exactly what you want on your plate. For example, as a standard, toast is served with your egg dishes. Scrambled eggs, poached or whatever, on toast. But if you don't want the toast at all you just order everything else in that menu item as an individual item from the "extras" menu without the toast and not only end up with exactly what you want (no toast) but you save money because you're not paying for it. In short, you can design your own meal to only pay for what you eat. Simple and a great way to do it. I would like to add that I don't agree with some of the names they have chosen for some meals as they are unnecessary and inappropriate for a family venue. They need to...

If home and happiness had a taste it would have been discovered by these guys honestly. Iâd like to add that I love the size of the menu, the amount of choices and the price. Anyone ever to write a bad comment about these guys should kick rocks. I love your food/cafe/delivery service/staff/prices and flowers. Iâve eaten in, ordered take away and been privileged to utilise delivery. No need to go anywhere else in my opinion. Hearts and stars. Besides you canât find good chai and grandmas pumpkin soup anywhere these days. Believe me. Good chai and even better pumpkin soup lives at cafe 63. Rip grandmas. Ps.
