Cons first. Pros second.
Often, the quality of food is not the greatest. The chicken and potato items are often too dry and lacking in flavor. Their burger meals can feel more like a stomach full of flour with extremely little vegetable/ salad and chicken content.
For example, the bacon and chicken burger is a thin slice of bacon with a crumbed chicken piece. Three onion rings, and I literally mean, three rings also crumbed. A slice of cheese. A very little amount of sauce. Between a sliced bun.
Furthermore, you often have to remind staff that your meal came with a drink or desert. Or you will walk out without these items as I have on a few occasions.
The prices for such meals are ridiculously expensive. Considering I can cook these same products with better flavoring and a more sufficient amount of filling without so much crumbing and dough, cheaper.
It is in an extremely poor neighborhood, that this store is located. Sometimes, people who hang-out in the area can be rather abusive and at times violent. I would say stay on guard or don't walk through the carpark at night. While there is not always trouble, there is definitely, those odd times that it is not safe.
Whether this is why this particular, Red Rooster's store, quality vs. price, is so low?. I am not sure. As far as I am concerned, a person should receive what they have paid for, regardless.
You may get the odd employee who is extremely rude. It is almost like one is doing you a favor rather than being paid to serve. Report it straight away though, it is worth doing so.
Pros time!
Red Rooster gives the most satisfying amount of a 'tub of gravy'! KFC should take note! Never too short on gravy to pour on the chips and chicken.
Admittedly, their crumbed fried chicken, is very close close to competitive with KFC. A little overdone making it hard to bite at times. But beyond that, it's different and unique, for sure. I certainly won't give away my share!!
For the most part, the staff is very friendly and energetic. And are always happy to comply, if there has been a mistake with your order. Don't just blame the staff, they are honestly doing what they can with what they have.
If cooking times and flavoring were a little more perfected, than, yes!, the meals would absolutely be worth the price charged. Again, not the staffs fault, but the fault of the owners/ management.
The store is kept extremely clean and they often have offers that are worth it!
Service is for the most part prompt. I have rarely had to wait for too long before receiving my order. And the staff is honest about waiting periods, in case you choose to order otherwise, or go elsewhere. I, simply for such consideration and courtesy given, have always chosen to wait.
There is the choice of parking and going in to receive your order (dine-in/ takeaway), the drive thru or home delivery.
Within an extremely short walking distance, you have a bottle shop and drive thru, the local watering hole as well as the local shopping center. There is also a J.O.P (Justice of the Peace) and a Pathologist in the shopping center.
Taxis to the local rank are a little slow. But, there is access to busses also.
However, I recommend going from the Raintrees Shopping Centre, through to Stockland Shopping Centre, to get to the Central Business District (City Center/ CBD). As opposed to going straight to this destination. Although, you 'will need to swap' busses at Stockland, the time difference is very noticeable.
Travelling to the Cairns Institute of T.A.F.E. college or the Cairns Hinterland Hospital (public), may actually be a better choice.
Overall, they are still worth supporting. They just need to 'tweek' their...
Read moreOrdered a tropical pack and the 10 cheese nuggets. Not only was the chicken dry it was like it was cooked 2 days ago and juat reheated 😞,the pineapple fritters were also slightly overcooked.I requested a bit of seasoning ( a micro bit was what I got 🤬). The chips were on the soggy side and no extra salt as requested, as for the nuggets, they weren't actually too bad except for the fact that if you buy nuggets from the competition, they usually ask you what dipping sauce you would like. I had to ask for the dipping sauce and then had to pay for them ( absolutely appalling to be honest ). However. Even thought I gave a very poor poor rating, the young man ,his/him or whatever they like being called these days was very pleasant to deal with 😎👍 so well done chap 😁 well done 👏. As for me giving Raintrees any more business in the future, that's going to be highly likely unless nothing else on earth is open. So on that note, I wish every other customer the best 😳. A quick note to management. Please check the quality of your food before even remotely offering it to customers like myself who rates almost every fast food or restaurants I attend 😊. It could mean the difference between a great review of a negative one like this one I have given you today....
Read moreIf I could give it 0 stars I would. Ordered an online pickup and ended up waiting 30 minutes for the food. When I went to the counter and asked how much longer the food will be, they tried to hand me our food which had sat for over 20 minutes without being called. The food was cold, I asked for it to be remade..so now I had waited a total of 40 minutes in the end. We went to walk away FINALLY with our hot food and were loudly told to “PLEASE ENJOY” in the most sarcastic tone. This is hands down the worst customer service I’ve experienced in my life and I hate having to be ‘one of those people’ to leave a review but all I expected was what a paid for - the bare minimum of hot food. Working in customer service myself, I always am understanding and patient but was so blown away with the attitude I received for asking them to provide the service that I paid for. I won’t be returning & watched other people experience similar things … do NOT order...
