The fact that this place has an average star rating of 4 is actually beyond me. My experience here makes me assume all the people who gave this place a good review are bots.
Let’s start with the food:
The food took thirty minutes to arrive since we ordered and the taste was nothing shy of utterly abysmal. We ordered a fish skin salad, a dish with disgusting old peanuts, Chinese sausage, greens and overcooked, rubbery squid, prawns, a fish soup which tasted pretty good and a pork dish which was completely flavourless. The fact we waited the thirty minutes for that pile of filth is actually crazy. Maybe the staff thought making us wait extremely long would make their food taste better because damn that was not worth the wait.
Next the price:
I looked at the menu and it was just a bunch of white people bait Chinese food, the average price for the whole menu was around 25 dollars which is actually insane for the value our tastebuds got. On top of this, we ordered two bowls of rice, guess how much they cost. FIVE. DOLLARS. PER. BOWL. What. The. HELL.
Next the atmosphere:
It just looks like a garage with like 5 tables and it’s cramped as hell, trash atmosphere.
Finally the service:
Not a lot of interactions but we had to remind them to refill our tea, the vibe you generally get from the staff is just straight AI generated bots.
Terrible place, maybe Satan would like to invest in this place to serve...
Read moreHow could I explain my wonderful feeling for Amy Dumpling in Blackburn ! Firstly thank you very much for Amy’s hard work , she did great job as I have known her restaurant in Box Hill since 2009 . As I do love shanghainese food especially when I got home sick , I called her first shop in Box Hill as “my kitchen “. Cuz Amy's shop always provides enough ( big plates ) fresh food, the price is very reasonable, the taste is awesome yummy , most dishes are provided fresh vegetables, the rice is good quality rice . They made awesome pork dumplings , I still remember I bought a few kg bags frozen dumplings to take home for next a few day’s dinner ! I loved ! Lots of Aussies , Chinese ( lots of Shanghainese ) customers loved ! Every time ( wherever lunch time or dinner time , the shop was so busy , even at 9 pm we still need to lined up to be seated . The dumplings , the spicy chicken on rice , pork chops on rice .... Shanghai Wonton ohhhh , all are my favorite... I think this is the best Shanghainese food in Melbourne, I am very lucky to have found her...
Read moreWe've been quite loyal customers at Amy's for over 3 years now but this deplorable experience will dissuade me from ever going there again. There's bad service, then there's disgusting service - I'm utterly disappointed at such disrespect tonight. Singapore noodles were almost inedible - so salty that we decided to return them. They seemed busy when I returned so I waited 5 minutes until all their delivery orders were finished and handed the noodles back saying, "Sorry to say but these noodles were too salty, you could taste the soy sauce." But the manager responds with a quick "ok", takes the noodles (which was almost uneaten and full) and throws them in the bin, then nods at me as if telling me to leave. At this stage I'm just dumbfounded at the disrespect and shocking manners (no sorry, no "we'll try better next time", no replacement for the noodles, no refund....) and I pretty much get shooed out the door. I feel a little sick in the stomach now and I don't know if it's the soy sauce or the...
