I am writing this review to raise a serious concern regarding a recent experience at Fortune House. During our visit, my mother ordered the fish congee. While eating, she unexpectedly swallowed a large, sharp fish bone that had been hidden in the congee. The incident was extremely distressing — she began coughing violently and was in visible pain. Thankfully, she managed to cough the bone out, but not without significant throat injury and ongoing discomfort.
Fish congee is expected to be made with care, especially when it comes to bones, which can pose a serious choking hazard. The size and sharpness of the bone indicate a severe lack of quality control in food preparation. We understand that bones can sometimes be missed, but something this large should never make it into a customer’s bowl — it’s a serious health risk.
This experience caused a lot of fear and stress for our family, and we urge Fortune House to review their preparation methods and staff training immediately. We would appreciate a formal apology and assurance that steps will be taken to prevent similar incidents from happening again.

Read moreVery disappointed with my experience on Mother's Day 2023. Placed an order over the phone for 8 meals and was advised to arrive at the restaurant in 25 minutes for pick up. I got there, and had to wait another 20 minutes since the food wasn't ready, with no communication from staff. When I was given the bags, I went to the car and checked that everything was there, but noticed one of the meals I was given was incorrect. I took it back inside, and had to wait another 10 minutes to be given the correct food. Went home, started eating, and found the vegetarian spring rolls had meat (presumably chicken) in them, and the vegetable and mushroom soup was clearly made of a meat-based broth. This was really traumatising for my vegetarian guest who hasn't eaten meat in over 15 years, and, for this reason, poses a risk of her getting sick. Then, three of my other guests found multiple human hairs in the fried rice that didn't belong to anyone at the table. The other food that was edible was below average. I'm really upset by this entire ordeal, especially for what was meant to be a lovely meal enjoyed by my family for Mother's Day. STAY AWAY FROM...
Read moreI really enjoyed the pork belly clay pot with tofu and veg, the sauce was light but very tasty, very well balanced flavors, my only complaint would be that there really wasn't much pork belly in my dish and it mainly consisted of the tofu but the tofu was well cooked soft and full of sauce which i loved and the pork was very tender and not too much fat. The deep fried chicken ribs where also very good, a little oily but full of flavor, the salt that was used was so tasty and mouth watering that i would defiantly eat it again.
small but busy little restaurant, just full of people and great looking food. The staff where very friendly and helpful gave us plenty of time to decide on what we wanted to eat. look forward on...
