Decided to try this restaurant on a Thursday arvo as my usual restaurant nearby was closed - Wrong Choice! Ordered a Tempura Prawn Udon, and I was served 2 tempura prawns with a piece of eggplant & a tiny piece of capsicum with a bowl of udon. Asked a lady staff was that an eggplant, she gave me a look and answered "ya". Looked through their menu to confirm that there was no description of vegetables or anything else under "Tempura Prawn Udon". When I was making payment, I specifically asked the lady staff was the dish meant to include vegetables and she mentioned they would usually include "some vegetables" in addition to prawns. I told her I would definitely ask what types of vegetables would they serve, if there was even any description of the dish to start with, as I do not normally eat eggplant. The staff responded saying "oh we did not know you do not like eggplant". And I repeated myself to her that the description of "vegetables" was missing, so how could I possibly inform them I did not want any eggplant?? She went on to say "ok next time you could tell us" and "I will let them know". Next time?? This staff's attitude seem pretty rude and they could not even take responsibility for not describing the dish, no apology nothing. Was this an assumption that every customer should know there would be vegetables included, or was the description missing so they could change whatever food they wished to include in order to cut costs?? The price of the dish was also not reasonable, 2 miserable prawns with 2 miserable pieces of vegetables. There are much better deals elsewhere with better authentic taste as well. Disappointing service and food, I am definitely NOT returning to this new management Miku just like the other reviewers above who are also...

The food quality only average is not Authentic Japanese quality food but the price is premium on the high end so definitely not value for money!!. No wasabi, no pickle ginger, no green tea...is it authentic Japanese restaurant??
Don't know how we end up going to this restaurant maybe we did not do a proper research or no one give a genuine review on this restaurant??
We went there on mothers' day for 6 person dine in cost $AUD230++ (around AUD 40 per person) no proper bill just hand written bill???? Tax invoice. Discourage payment by card surcharge 1.5% for using card. Not card friendly.
My mate ordered tempura took more than 45mins we already finished our meal only the tempura with rice arrived at AUD 28.50 price definitely not worth it. The tempura very oily and bit rancid oil not authentic Japanese tempura and the rice so dry absolutely not value for money Should be value half that price. In addition we ordered tempura for entree but served after we finished our main dish..is it still Entree or dessert????
I ordered Unagi rice $32.80 just very average taste shouldn't cost that much
Overall, the price on high premium end, the food only average taste not authentic Japanese very similar Malaysian food and also service poor does not make sure everyone have their meal with the excuses given busy kitchen. Being a customer paying premium shouldn't be an excuse for busy. If you don't have enough staff to serve you should not allow the client come in or place order
I would never come back again to this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWeāve been patrons of Miku Japanese Restaurant for what feels like an eternity now. Nestled in the heart of Doncaster, Miku has become our go-to spot for authentic Japanese cuisine that never fails to impress. The quality of the food here is simply unmatched, making it the best Japanese restaurant weāve found in the area.
One of the aspects we appreciate most about Miku is the freshness of the ingredients. The fish, in particular, is consistently fresh and of the highest quality. This is especially important to us because our all-time favorite dish here is the sashimi on rice. Each bite of sashimi is a burst of flavor that takes you on a journey to the heart of Japan, and the rice is always cooked to perfection, providing a subtle contrast that heightens the overall experience.
We also regularly order the curry chicken and beef udon. The curry chicken is a delightful blend of flavors that are both comforting and invigorating. It has the right amount of heat to kick your taste buds into gear without overwhelming them. The beef udon, on the other hand, is a hearty dish that is both satisfying and delicious. The beef is tender and flavorful, and the udon noodles are cooked just right, offering a pleasant chewiness that we absolutely love.
Overall, Miku Japanese Restaurant has become more than just a dining venue for us; itās a place where weāve created countless memories over countless meals. We cannot recommend it enough. Whether youāre a seasoned lover of Japanese cuisine or a curious newcomer, Miku has something that will surely delight...
