So, I recently had the chance to try out AliQapu restaurant, and I thought I'd share my thoughts with you. Overall, I had a pretty good experience, but there were a few ups and downs that caught my attention.
Let's start with the positives. The food at AliQapu is simply fantastic! I must say, their kebabs are absolutely fabulous. Each bite was packed with flavors that left me wanting more. And when it comes to desserts, their ice cream is top-notch. It's creamy, delicious, and definitely worth saving some room for.
However, there were a couple of disappointments too. The faludeh didn't quite hit the mark for me. It lacked the authentic taste I was expecting, and it didn't leave a lasting impression. Another letdown was the baklava. It didn't taste fresh and seemed like it had been sitting around for a while.
On the service front, AliQapu really shines. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. They were prompt in taking our orders and delivering the food. It's always a pleasure to be served with a smile.
Now, let's talk about the elephant in the room – splitting the bill. Unfortunately, AliQapu doesn't offer this option, and it can be a bit of an issue, especially when dining with a group of friends. It would be great if they could consider implementing a system for splitting the bill in the future to make things more convenient for their customers.
All in all, AliQapu is a great spot for some amazing food. Their kebabs and ice cream are definitely the highlights, and the service is top-notch. However, there are a few areas where they could improve, such as the faludeh and baklava quality, as well as offering the option to split the bill. Nonetheless, I would still recommend giving it a try if you're in the mood for some delicious...
Read moreTo begin with there is no allocated parking for this restaurant. It is not easy to find street parking. Make sure to put atleast an extra 10 min for parking struggles. Tables are placed too close together and hardly any privacy. Poor waitresses struggle to walk in between the tables. Level of noise is unbelievable and only after most of the near table left the restaurant we could hear the background music. From what I could see table service is horrible. We waited more than half an hour to place our orders but no one came. We had to walk to the front desk to order. They are understaffed (and from previous experience nothing new for this place) and poor girls are struggling to manage the hall. Be ready to be asked to pass on your plates and cutleries to the side of the table as there is no space for the waitresses to pick them up (not recommended if you want to take guests there). I don't think it is the waitresses fault as I could see the struggles in their faces. It feels as if the sevice is not only bad but also unethical to be used, as if it is slavery. You want the person who is serving you to be happy and satisfied with their job, not struggling every minute to manage the extra ordinary/unreasonable amount of tasks. Food was obviously overpriced but quality acceptable, rice was heavily buttered more than what we usually expect. Overall not recommend this place not for the food or price, for the feeling of slavery business running in the background, for noisy environment, poor service and condensed tabling. To be noted: please read some of the owner's reply to previous comments, so that you understand their...
Read moreThe place looks nice but seemed a little bit under staffed. There is no complimentary dishes or even bread which is pretty unusual for a Persian restaurant. We asked if they can give a little bit of our rice straight away for our kid so we can keep him busy until the meal is ready. It was provided to us after around 10 mins and we were charged for extra rice which none is common in any other Persian restaurants we have been. So, all in all service will stay at 3 stars. We ordered Koobideh and Lamb Cutlet (Shishlik). Koobideh was very average and not even close to the other Persian restaurants I have been back in Brisbane and Sydney. The Shishlik wasn’t really what it should be and not even close to the photos provided on the menu and not close to any other shishlik I have had before. However, it was cooked medium which is my preference for red meat. Rice was cooked very well with good amount of butter in it. All in all, food can go something around 3 and a half stars. The prices are high for the quality and portion of food. I recommend adding some complimentary dishes/bread/soup as a starter. Also, recommend adding the common Persian fresh juices to the menu such as watermelon or pomegranate juice or banana shake. Having these items could make my experience a 4...
