Antique Bar — Restaurant in Melbourne

This place is awesome! Fabulous vibe and awesome staff. No booking but Brodie leapt into action upon our arrival (five of us) after heading down their way thanks to a revolting experience up the road at Bang Bang where we were kicked out 35 minutes before our booking ended. We showed up with birthday cake that hadn't been served thanks to that, and he got plates and forks and tried to clear enough space to ensure we would be comfortable, then a table opened up while sorting all this so we were set up in a booth with a friendly down to earth waiter who couldn't have been more helpful. Far better welcoming vibe here where you actually felt like they were happy to serve you, the drinks were awesome and very reasonably priced. So glad to be able to end our night on a high. Will definitely be back. This is one of those places you can enjoy in jeans or dressed up looking all fab given the velvet seats and great 20s/30s style music so think upon return we'll do the 'let's go fancy' visit as is definitely a place for some great pics too. We have had long on/off relationship with this bar. Always loved the place but have had good and bad interactions with former staff and management. I have to say I CANNOT over-emphasise how fantastic a night we just had. An impromptu return drink for happy hour (4 -7) with some insanely good affordable beer and cocktails turned into us staying for trivia night and my buying a Guinness (because it genuinely was the best Guinness I’ve seen poured anywhere and I HAD to have one!) … I should just shut up! Running a small business ourselves we are all about service and every single staff person had genuine care and attention to detail customer service in spades! Actually I just kind of want to say thank you … because this place meant a lot to us when we started our business (when we started in our bootstraps) this is where we came to decompress and I am so happy to have re-found it again. Looking forward to making this place a part of my weekly watering holes once...

I was looking for a venue to host my Gatsby themed party, and Antique Bar was the PERFECT place for it! the vintage décor of not only the upstairs Cotton Club, but the entire bar matched the aesthetic and vibes that I was aiming for. It was so great to be able to share this with my friends and family! New owners Boutaina and Lyle were absolutely legends! From helping me prepare the space leading up to the party, to answering all my questions, and problem solving on the fly, they were the most accommodating and reassuring – which made planning a big party so easy! Shout out also to our bartender for the night - Liam - for slinging us the speediest drinks!
