Applehead Deli — Restaurant in Melbourne

Well finding out somewhere like this is now in the area makes me want to move back to Mentone. On a busy little backstreet you'll be hard-pressed to find a park but trust me, keep looking because you wont want to miss Applehead Deli. A quaint little building with big bold font and a few little tables ready to welcome you in with open arms. We were greeted very warmly by the owner and his staff and quickly shown where the menus were and asked if we needed any help deciding. I had my heart set on the Pastrami but decided to splurge a little and also grab a tuna melt, oh my, what a great decision. Both sandwiches were spot on, the Pastrami had that nostalgic throwback feeling to the delis of NYC whilst the Tuna Melt left behind the sometimes bland one note creamy approach and added some kick with Jalapenos and chipotle mayo. Found this place online searching for ‘best egg n bacon roll near me’ and thought I’d give it a go…. A place with a small menu, that makes everything in house - appeals to me. It says “we care about quality and what we do is done well” Good coffee, and at $13.5 the egg n bacon roll is the best value one around. Might not be the absolute best but makes a run at that as well. The service was great, smiles and conversation 👌 For me (and this is only my preference) I like to stare out at nature, a park or the sea when I’m sitting down at a cafe for a relaxing bit of brunch - and so the only let down is the proximity to the main rd, although they are not directly on the highway and parking is easy. I’ll be back several times till I’ve tried everything on the menu but this will be the place I go to for my B n E roll on the way to wherever...

As I had about 20 minutes time till my Zumba class other side of the road , as I saw this eye catching Deli, I had a quick croissant🥐from them!! Jasper served me the croissant but I requested whether I could get this warm as I always prefer to eat warm stuff in the cold weather!! As he was on his feet doing the other stuff he handed over the staff to get this warm!! When I went to try the warm croissant It was very badly warmed; sort of too soggy; where as I couldn’t enjoy it at all. Jesper’s service, his interaction with the customers were beyond best. He interacted with me even though he was so busy. I know Jasper will have an eye next time to which degree that the staff should warm the croissant or he will inform them.As Jasper was so good with the customers I totally forgot about my overheated croissant.🤣 Thanks...
