Sweet Espresso — Restaurant in Melbourne

This place has a very large selection. Their milkshakes look extremely fancy and very large. Their coffee is nice. The service is good. The place is clean and furniture comfortable. Unfortunately I've had two food shock experiences here on two different occasions. The food here is of good quality and I stress that this is just a communication issue because clearly they can really cook. The uncultured bogan aussie in me doesn't understand that a meal labelled red dragon is going to be hot and covered in what seemed to be a whole bottle of Tabasco sauce. Likewise the eggs Benedict I tried 6 months ago was very hot and spicy and also with no warning on the menu. Given the location, I urge the owners to please consider the clientele who may not cope with such spicy food or not understand that a certain type of food may be very hot. What a lovely café. It’s refreshing to see a venue that’s light, airy, immaculate, has modern music (not too loud either), modern industrial decor with a great size menu. As opposed to the menu that has 5,000 items making the choosing a time wasting nightmare. It was 2:15pm and I had a lovely flat white - so quickly too & I ordered the Eggs Benedict with pulled pork & “pork floss” on waffles. Omg as you can see, it was enormous and delicious. I think the chef may have forgotten the hollandaise sauce. Not to worry coz I didn’t realise until I was finished. I highly recommend this café. Do yourself a favour and visit Sweet Espresso. Terrible service. We ordered 3 coffees, 1 came out incorrectly - no problem, mistakes happen. After waiting 10 minutes for the correct coffee, I had to ask how much longer. We were told 'it's coming up next'. In total we waited 15 minutes. The other 2 in our party had well & truly finished their coffees. They fill all takeaway coffee orders first before serving their dine-in customers. We watched people coming & going with their takeaway coffees whilst we were left sitting waiting for ours.
