Archie's Fish And Chips — Restaurant in Melbourne

If I could give them more than 5 stars I would. Archie is the kindest man, who goes above and beyond. My 88 year old mother orders her fish n chips every Friday night from here (sometimes another night as well!) She says she has tried all the F&C shops around and he makes the best ever.

She orders through my Uber Eats app, and lately has been having trouble, as Uber is picking up from Archies but not getting it to her right away, and its cold when it reaches her....its only been the last few times, and so I called Archie to let him know the feedback. He explained that during Covid it was taking much longer for drivers, and he apologised even through it wasn't really his fault.

Last night I get a call from Archie himself, saying the HE personally is going to deliver mums order and at no charge. Mum said they were the best fish and chips EVER! And that Archie was the nicest man, and she was so so happy.

I really do not believe that this place could have an untarnished rating. This place is overpriced, doesn't have any good deals, the calamari was tough, also had the rubber band thing in there, and was crumbed instead of battered. The chips were soft and they did not put any chicken salt on anything, even though we specifically asked for it. The Flake batter was cakey and not crunchy and the flake it self was too thin and overcooked.
