Artichoke & Whitebait — Restaurant in Melbourne

To put it up front: I am allergic to eggs. Not anaphylactic shock allergic, but bad enough that egg, especially raw egg, will give me extreme digestive issues, hives and other things that make the next 24h very unpleasant. Cooked egg I am OK with in small amounts, so I wouldnt care about small quantities. Mayo, with its raw egg ingredient, however, is extremely bad for me.

Went here to have a sandwich. I usually avoid sandwich places because Mayo on sandwiches is always a problem. Since a lot other vendors were closed today, I thought I'd give them a go. I asked specifically if the sandwich I ordered had any mayo on it. They said it didnt, and added tomato sauce on it upon request. I was happy with that. After eating about a third of the sandwich I realized that there was, however Mayo on the entire sandwich, which I just didnt realize at first because I was tasting the tomato sauce that they put on top. Obviously I stopped eating immediately.

When I went to complain, all I got was a shy "oh sorry" only.

Bought a pre-made falafel sandwich. I have never had a drier sandwich in my life - not only was there no moistness at all in the sandwich (no hummus or any sort of condiment to balance out the dryness of the falafel), but the sandwich had gone stale. I was surprised they actually still sold it.

The bread was crusty in a way that un-toasted sandwich bread should not be. The bits of salad leaves were wilted and discolouring. A disappointment and annoyance at having totally wasted $5.90. Should've taken it back as soon as I opened it.

Bad quality food....long time for food to arrive (45 minutes)

We had a group of people, and several of us got each of the following:

Lemon chicken: (I had this) portions were small, chicken was cold and tastless. Bad value and low quality.

Fish and Chips: this was so bad the people that ordered it didn't eat it.

Chicken schnitzel sandwich: was ok, but they said they wouldn't rush back
