We just completed a full house renovation with Damco Kitchens consisting of a new kitchen/main bathroom/en-suite/laundry and numerous other minor structural and cosmetic improvements including complete new flooring and wall/ceiling painting throughout. Every room and every square inch of flooring/walls and ceiling was renovated and upgraded. Having a background in customer service and administration we come from a clear understanding of professional business practices and customer service focus. Damco excelled in all of those qualities.
Without hesitation we would highly commend and recommend Damco Kitchens and all their trades, as they were 5-Star from start to finish.
We originally contacted seven different companies to discuss and quote for our proposed full house renovation. From the start we mentioned that we wished to remain living in our home during renovations. For some companies we received an adverse response and in one instance we were told our quote will be increased by 30% to satisfy our wish to reside in our home. We further explained there were other minor structural and cosmetic renovations we wanted to incorporate into the proposed scope of works as it was our intention to fully renovate and modernize our home within this proposed single project. Once again some companies were not accommodating to our needs. Damco was the ONLY Company out of the seven contacted who listened to what we wished to achieve in our stated scope of proposed works and to their credit, Damco strove to fulfill our wishes.
We met Ajay from Damco on site on a Monday and he took on board our requirements making suggestions as he saw fit. By the following Friday we received a 19-paged fully detailed and itemized proposal. The proposal itemized every costing to each renovated room so that we knew exactly where every dollar was going to.
Once we had signed with Damco we were handed over to their project manager Steve. From our initial meeting with Steve we instantly knew we had a professional and customer focused project manager then on day one of the project starting we knew our initial thoughts about Steve were grossly underestimated. We were greatly impressed by Steveās communication with us and his understanding to fulfill our wishes and to ensure the project was managed to achieve a quality end result.
Steve understood that we were going to remain living in our home during renovations so that we could move furnishings and cleanup after each trade to make their work less complicated and to Steveās credit the proposed schedule he developed incorporated our staying in our home with a 3 month finishing date. To our pleasant surprise Steve was able to complete the whole renovation as per the schedule to the day even though he had to deal with the odd trade person going overtime for certain works.
What also greatly impressed us about Steve was his focus on attention to detail. There were several instances where certain completed works were not millimetre perfect and not an issue for us, but to Steve they were not acceptable. In several instances we argued that the item didnāt need rectification but to no avail. Steve would not let it stand. It was refreshing for us to witness such professionalism and attention to detail. Very rare these days to find those exceptional qualities in a person, especially in the building trade.
There simply are too many examples of how Steve as our project manager greatly contributed to our project being enjoyable and stress free, and considering we are talking about a full house renovation with clients living on the work site that says a lot.
All other staff at Damco also helped to ensure that we had an enjoyable adventure on completing our full house renovations. Thanks go out to Jan, Diana and Nik.
On schedule and on budget. Thank you 5-star Damco Kitchens and especially 10-star Ajay and Steve. Thanks to you we will have long lasting found memories of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLook no further, just choose Damco! Damco's designer Ajay was brilliant from the getgo. He is definitely Damco's draw card and the reason why we chose Damco at the first place. Not for a moment did we have a feeling that he was pushy or money driven unlike representatives of other companies we were doing negotiations with at the time. We had countless meetings with Ajay before committing ourselves to Damco and he was always utterly patient, inventive and understanding of our concerns regarding timing of our renovation (during the worst covid lockdown stage). He filled us with confidence that Damco would do a great job. Ajay's suggestions regarding wall extension, kitchen island and reshuffle of kitchen elements and appliances were brilliant. His 3D presentations were professional and creative. His extensive knowledge of materials was impressive. We love our opaque, antifingerprint, nanotech, soft to touch and very elegant kitchen cabinets. The next person Ajay introduced us to was Steve - out project manager. Steve is a master of his trade! His competence, responsivness and easy-going personality are next to none. I honestly cannot believe that you can find better project manager. We knew he would personally make sure we were completely satisfied. He familiarised us with Damco portal containing all the information regarding our renovation, calendar of all tradies' appointments and progress of the work with pictures and comments from each tradie. In the following weeks Steve bacame like a member of our family, always just a phone call away, visiting on a regular basis, making sure that everything goes smoothly and fixing things himself if anything left out by tradies. My husband is a builder and we discussed never seeing more approachable, hands on and honest project manager. All the trades were executed to the highest standard and appointments' time/dates respected. The product of Damco's team work is our brilliant kitchen and two years down the track we are still in love with it and grateful to Damco for this...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePathetic experience we had with Damco during the free consultation period with Damcoās designer Rick Galla Riva who asked us to pay $ 1000 on the free consultation session for commitment purposes by showing just half his work. The most impolite designer Rick, who had his mind set that I was there to take his designs for free in the consultation session as my spouse hadnāt showed up on time and also cause he was threatened by Masters being his competition for designing our kitchen. He had the audacity to ask us to come back when both of would be present together or leave as he had too much work on his plate to entertain us for his self-held meeting. When we didnāt budge he bombarded us with questions relating to why we were present there when we had also consulted Masters to design our home as his competition. His levels of insecurity dint come down till I raised my tone for indirectly distrusting us and creating a disruption to our meeting. He finally showed us his impractical kitchen design which took us 2 hours to re do by giving him ideas rather than he giving us. Once the whole design was finalized and an average quote was given, he asked for $1000 as commitment from us on the āfree consultation sessionā without even showing the bathroom design. We refused to do so as we needed to see the rest of his work and then think over his ideas and get back to him with our research. He dint believe us and refused to discuss the bathroom design or go ahead with the meeting. He also mentioned he dint care if we were upset with his behavior as he would get 99 other customers against losing 1.
We wouldnāt recommend Rick Galla Riva, the designer of Damco, or his Manger cum Owner Nikool Kotecha to anyone as they wouldnāt entertain you unless you satisfy their insecurity levels for presenting half work and then ask for monetary commitment for an impractical design that is rather is below average and nothing...
