Saturday night ruined!

We booked our table for 8 people at Augello’s Balwyn on a Saturday night at 6pm. When we arrived (5.55pm), after identified ourselves for our booking, an elder male staff/manager insisted that our booking was made for 3 people therefore, due to a fully booked Saturday night, he could not seat us until 7.30pm, or 7pm at the earliest.

The male staff showed me their booking record. It clearly listed our booking with a handwritten number of ‘8’ people, but he admitted, although this may have been an ‘8’, the restaurant only reserved a small table for 3 people (How odd!) and there was “not much he could do”as “they are fully booked”.

This man then asked our group (with elders and young child) to wait outside of the restaurant in a hot and humid 35 degree, as he “will need to serve the next customer”!

After I expressed my frustration, refused to wait for another unsure hour or longer for a booking we already made and asked for a better solution, I said “this is not our fault that you gave a small table for which clearly looks like an ‘8’ to me.”, the man somehow got agitated and even raised his voice to say, “I’m gonna have to cancel your appointment if you keep talking like this. “

I felt being offended and not respected. I hate to say this, but I felt racially discriminated as we were the only Asian group standing in the restaurant at the time. This male staff/manager acted as if he didn’t care and didn’t wish to serve us at all, even if this was such an odd restaurant’s mistake in the first place.

Avoid this place - horrible service and arrogant staff - no sincere apology nor any attempt to fix their own mistake! Very rude and...

First of all, it’s good for our first time, however, we went here again during our anniversary and the experience was truly disappointing and bad. We used to have good memories in here and now its all over.

We order straight away because we know what we want and had been here before, the young boy took our first order and another Indian girl took the second order. Which our first order arrived in 10 mins.

Unfortunately we waited for our second food order for 1 hours with the table empty for 1 hours and they didn’t even realise our table had been waited for that long. The Indian manager (looks like it cause she didn’t have staff shirt on) stood at the bar area and talking with another Indian which I assume another manager?

Those tables next to us had their foods served and eaten half way, however, we just ordered one pizza and one spaghetti and still haven’t got our foods.

They blame the kitchen were short of staffs and it’s busy, from my view, I can tell the kitchen are busy and it’s non stop, but there’s a time where the kitchen doesn’t have any dockets in there with them!!! Which mean they forgot to put our orders in for one whole hours and without following up while chitchatting at the bar area!!!

What upset us is that they blame the kitchen instead and they forgot to place the order because I can see the kitchen clearly, secondly, it’s our anniversary and it’s make it...

I have been coming to Augellos forever with a group of girls on A Friday night. I go way back to Augellos in Mooloolaba. We are there at least twice a month. I bought a small birthday cake to be served AS A SURPRISE for one on the girls. Not only did they forget. I had to go to the desk and remind them. Then someone dumped 4 plates on the table. Well that was the end of the surprise. Soon after the cake arrived for us to cut up ourselves. Then to top it off THEY CHARGED CAKEAGE. THE CAKE ONLY COST ME $8.50. TO MAKE IT WORSE I WAS NOT TOLD. I will still be back but just wanted to let you know I am disappointed in the way it was handled. They should have said we won't charge for the cake as you were not...
