Betty's Burgers — Restaurant in Melbourne

Was walking around Northland Shopping Centre and saw a Betty's Burger joint. I remember watching numerous positive reviews and recommendations online so I decided to try it out. It was roughly 10:45am and the place was still empty. Stood at the doorway waiting to be seated and I was served by the friendly Angie. She gave me the menu and told me to order at the counter whenever I was ready. Being a first timer, I had no idea nor expectations of the food. However, the 'Shroom' Burger caught my eye.. crispy fried mushroom patty.. sounds interesting so I ordered that. Betty's do not do combo deals so I had to order the fries and drink on the side. Angie asked if I wanted any specific sauce for the fries, I had no idea and she recommended the 'Betty's Special Sauce' (Great Choice!). I was then given a buzzer to pick up at the counter when the food was ready. However, I did not have to do that as Angie hand delivered the food directly to my table. Angie was also kind enough to warn me that the mushroom patty was going to be really hot inside so I need to careful when biting into it. That advice was greatly appreciated as I would have just bit into it like a pig! Anyway, tried the fries first and it was crispy on the exterior with a nice crunch when biting into it. Then I tried it with the Betty Sauce and it was delicious! So delicious that I devoured all the fries and sauce first. Now on to the burger, I was expecting the patty to be a fried mushroom or something like a onion ring. But to my surprise, it was delicious gooey mushroom (sliced or diced I think) inside the patty. Very delicious! Quite ingenious as I've not tried a mushroom burger cooked this way. Crispy and cruchy outside but with gooey saucy texture inside. And indeed it was still quite hot even though I left it alone while I ate the fries! Thank you again for the caution Angie! Pretty good! Had to edit my review after going back. I originally put a negative one but doing 5 stars now. They added a plant based burger to the menu, it's pretty good! All of the ingredients were perfect. Place is nice and clean. I also got a peanut butter shake, really enjoyed it too. I'll be going back. It was pretty nice and even the price of the burger at $11.5 is reasonable.

Betty’s Burgers Northland stands out as a true gem in the bustling world of dining, thanks to its irresistible menu and its friendly and efficient staff, especially our manager de jour - Lara. From the moment we stepped inside the warm, inviting burger-shack atmosphere set the stage for a memorable dining experience. We had the Bettys classic and the spicy grilled chicken burger and both were excellent. The fresh, high-quality ingredients shone through in every bite, making it clear that Betty’s takes great pride in its food.
