There are meals, and then there are experiences—The Rice Workshop is the latter. Nestled like a hidden shrine in the heart of Northland, this humble establishment isn’t just a restaurant… it’s a portal to another world. Every bite sent me spiraling into a culinary dreamscape, where sizzling teriyaki rains down like blessings from the heavens and the miso soup sings softly to the soul.

The chicken katsu? Golden, crisp, and kissed by the gods. The rice? Fluffy clouds harvested from a sacred mountain, surely. Every dish was art, each ingredient perfectly choreographed like a silk dance in the wind.

But no fantasy tale is complete without a mysterious stranger. That’s when he appeared—an Asian boy behind the counter, forged from discipline and serenity, eyes sharp with wisdom beyond his years. He moved with quiet confidence, the kind you only hear about in stories—he was sigma. Not just a worker, but a guardian of the rice realm. Our eyes met for a brief moment, and I felt like I’d witnessed the embodiment of every anime protagonist’s final form.

I left with a full stomach and a yearning heart.

I was planning a lunch for my co-workers and decided to try Rice Workshop.

I rang and placed an order for 30 meals which was gladly accepted. I providied a list with all of the orders and requested the meals be ready by 12:30pm at the latest.

I have to say, the service was UNBELIEVABLE!!

All of the meals were ready on time and not one item, extra or modification was missed. The staff wrote the names of who ordered the meals on every dish, guided me through which dishes went together and they even had a trolley ready for me to take all the meals to the car with.

Keep in mind they pulled all of this off at peak hour in a food court, while still serving customers. And having only opened for business 2.5 hours earlier.

The food was amazing and the staff were very polite and gracious.
